“Best”? In what sense? Good teachers? Strong publication record? Mentorship and post-grad guidance?

Also, FWIW most folks have only gone to one law school (maybe two, if they transferred) so Idk how strong any one person’s comparative evaluation of the school with the “best” professors will be.

Assuming “professorship” is an actual word used in its proper context, where you stand on the best will depend on where you sit. I went to a school where law professors routinely and openly engaged in sexual relationships with students so by that metric, winning hands and pants down

We had several... some so brazenly opportunistic, they fathered kids with students. Seeing how consequential the curve can be on career trajectories however, sadly also understandable

Great for you lad

Was this meant to be a super subjective question?

Just started at a new small agency. I feel so out of place. People literally sit to eat lunch at the other side of the table from me and are so standoffish. I uprooted my whole life left my best friends to work here and am now regretting it. I’m stuck in a year lease and have to stay here a year otherwise I have to pay back moving expenses. Has this happened to you? How did you make it work? I’m so miserable and know I need to move back to where I was before…

Does anyone deal with constant disrespect in the workplace due to their age ? It’s crazy how secretaries are placed on a pedestal here because they are older and I guess have been here longer? But it’s becoming so draining. Beyond the petty things, I requested off for an event months ago and am now being told I may need to come in because the secretary requested off too( even though I told her about the day off months ago. For background there is an alleged rule that we cannot both be off)

Our firm has a flexible work from home policy for attorneys only. I’m in a small office and I feel guilty working from home when our paralegals cannot. One of our paralegals started just before the pandemic and feels entitled to work from home to the point where she threatens to leave over it. I don’t agree with the policy being 100% limited to attorneys but I want to work from home!

To experienced attorneys at large employers, has anyone tried starting a small side practice in a different area of law (wills & trusts, for example) and succeeded in building it out over time?
