I’m an HR Generalist. My job is a mix of recruitment and Employee Relations. I find the recruitment aspect to be pretty enjoyable and stress free, but the Employee Relations aspect does often give me a lot of anxiety (I’m a very anxious person to begin with). Recently, it’s been worse because I have several ER cases currently that seem like they could be potentially turning into lawsuits. Do others in ER experience these anxieties? If so, how do you manage them?

I have a full time remote position and currently interviewing for another remote role that requires some travel for on-site visits (I'm ok with this). I feel like the other company will make me an offer and I'm stuck on what to do. It would be about a 20% increase but I'm sure it will be more stressful, given that it involves internal auditing. Hey all, I'm a Product Manager 9 months into a Big4 consulting manager role. I've come to the conclusion that although I can succeed in consulting, my preference is to own the roadmap and have a larger influence on the 'what' for a product instead of offering recommendations and executing on another PMs backlog. I've now accepted an offer as PM at a well SaaS product company, where I will have a more hands on role, shaping the product and delivering valuable outcomes. Thoughts welcome! :)

As a new product manager what books should I be reading? I’ve already read Inspired but looking or more. For context, I’ve joined a series A start up and as expected there’s a lot to do and it’s very fluid. I want to be able to help the head of product as much as possible as well as provide some structure to how we work.

I’m evaluating a job offer and though the base pay is at market value, there are no options for profit sharing or bonuses. Is this something I should negotiate? And if so, what are some tips you’ve found helpful for negotiating these points in an offer?

For those of you with high functioning triads, what makes your engineering lead standout? I am in a product team where the engineering lead was a good developer who was promoted into role when the previous lead left.
