Which of these two offers would you pick, if you were picking one solely based on Supply Chain/Project Mgmt exit opportunities (or MBA prospects)?
1. Regeneron: Automation Engineer
+F500 Biotech
+Decent pay, great incentives
+Great work life balance
-Stuck in upstate NY
-Pigeonholed into one industry
-More regulatory work than project mgmt
2. Walmart: Automation Engineer
+Dynamic project ownership
+Lots of Travel
+No. 1 company on F500
-Little fish in a HUGE pond
-Work life balance is eh
I saw a talk from the head of the QA/QE team at Walmart a few years back. They’re doing some really interesting things and seem to have a great culture.
That said depends where you are in your career too. I think the opportunities to learn as a small fish in a big pond are great. But if you’re later stage, you may be more interested in influencing where your school of fish is headed.
I would have loved to have worked there (based on what I heard in the talk) when I was new to the field. I feel like it’s the right environment to learn all the right things.
