1. Seattle: Career opps are strong, diversity is way better than Portland or Denver, overall size of city is appropriate, outdoors are up there with Denver’s, more internationally known, and the sports teams have nice colors 😅.
Portland - cause the woods are calling me
Just move out if the country
Why?
I would do Seattle or Denver
Seattle for the gorgeous summers.
I know exactly what you’re looking for and the answer is Bend, Oregon. It’s Portland and Denver mixed into a mid size city. It’s all tourism. Absolutely no jobs there, but if you bring your own job you get high mountain desert, ski resort up the road and it’s sunny like 350 days a year. The best ski resort in the world is in Whistler, B.C. and that’s like an 8 hour drive. Bend has like a southern Cali vibe, kinda trendy, lots of outdoor sports, completely different from Portland. That’s your spot! I win! It’s a boom or bust economy there. If you time it right you can get a cheap house. If you don’t want to live there anymore rentals are in high demand.
I’m weird so I would have chosen Portland. Instead I chose Seattle. I’m a hermit now
