Which one would you pick? Citigroup - compliance WFH, good salary, don’t like job OR Wells Fargo - Audit, in office 3 days, 30 min commute, at least 10k more salary and better bonus, job I like

30min is nothing. Also negated by better healthy lifestyle I guess. You should look for job security and wlb.

I would personally pick the job I like. Life is too short to be doing things I don’t like when I have the opportunity to choose between the two.

like

3 days a week really is fine. I was dreading going back in when I was full time wfh but now we need to go back in 3 days a week and you get used to it literally after a couple of days. That plus better pay and you enjoy the job makes the answer quite clear

like

Agree with most. Wells Fargo. For three days a week in office, $10k more, and job you want more. Plus flexibility could change in the long term either way. So unless you need flexibility for work from anywhere or plan on moving soon Wells Fargo seems like the best bet.

Didn’t you answer your own question by stating you ‘liked’ the WF job more?

I have a feeling audit at WF won’t be easy with all their issues. What is your current role?

Auditor by trade

Thank you all, it seriously helps

1.5 hour extra commute each week is not bad for a job that would make you happy. Find a podcast you enjoy and can listen to on your commute.

Pick the job you like. Plus more $. Sounds like the only thing the other job has going for it is that it’s WFH. If that’s most important to you, maybe go for door #3 and keep looking for a job you like that’s also WFH

To me, depends on what your obligations and time commitments are outside of work

I worked at WF. It’s literally the worst company to work for. Save yourself the stress.

Maybe not as much in a public eye as WF. But honestly very common

Hey all - I am at a regional firm in the northeast (300 employees) that recently started a search to include permanent remote, full time or part time roles in every facet of our tax group. We honestly are growing quickly (below average turnover) and just need more good people as our client base grows. Good management, very fair compensation, and an actually flexible work environment (we have quite a few part time / reduced hours) and advancement opportunities... Give me a shout!

Is it more impressive to make manager in 2.5 years at the same firm or move to a different big 4. Im S1, got an offer from another big 4 to be a manager but my firm (also a big 4) wants to make me a manager and match the salary immediately. Assuming the work would be similar, what would look better on my resume? Goal is to make director as quickly as possible and go in-house.

Would you take the following offer: Base - ~$180K; Bonus - ~$30K; RSU - ~$15k; Total Comp - ~$225K; F500 firm, not tech, mid-west, individual contributor role with potential for senior roles in 2 years. Good WLB, but not the most interesting industry. Currently working at a T2 Strategy Consulting firm, 2.5 years out of a T10 MBA. $200K all in. 7 YoE. Happy with consulting so far and performing well, but would like better WLB. How much better are tech exit ops given SF cost of living?

Thoughts on reporting recruiters on LinkedIn when they ghost you? I’ve had several reach out, hype me for a job, then I’ve done the work to learn about it, the company, etc. Additionally, I’ve talked to either them and/or someone closer to the position. I’m not really looking for a new job but am open. I think it’s unethical to completely ghost after having an applicant go through all of this. Especially if someone is looking.
