Any advice on pivoting from film/commercial production to agency (in toronto)? Asking for a friend. They have a 2-3 years of experience but are finding the work really unstable/inconsistent and just generally incompatible with their mental health (overnight shifts, etc). They’re aware agency is really busy/a grind too, but think it would be a better fit. They’re also exceptionally extrovert and would be excellent in any sort of client facing role. Does anyone have any advice/experience/thoughts?
Those of you who are transplants from a certain city that I’ll not name will have objections to this discussion, but here goes: best pizza in Boston!
Looking for a system analyst with some Hyperion administration experience. Great opportunity to be part of one the largest hospitality companies in the world and a fantastic finance systems team. Based in north New Jersey.
Purchased new at a Delaware AD in late 2019, this OP 36 with the “Explorer dial” was discontinued in 2020.
Over the last three years my mfg company has had a lot of people leave and each time I take on the extra responsibility - from admin, payroll, benefits, compliance, safety, inventory and shipping. I literally do it all. And not only that, but I’ve eliminated and optimized a lot of wasteful processes in order to get it all done. I thought that it would all come with eventual pay increases since it saves the company over 300k in overhead. This whole time I should have been OE. I feel like a fool.
I dont understand the concept of DCF at all. I get that were discounting the future expected cashflows but wtf is a haircut? How do you just pull that number out of thin air? Is this all fugayze?
Can we say that AKQA is a design-driven company (or is it more a consultancy company with design teams in it)?
How would you define it? 🙃
Accenture Toronto folks, I am interested in pivoting into the consultant role. Would anyone be willing to chat and perhaps look at my CV?

Transferred some stock in kind from one brokerage to another but noticed that each transferred stock appears to be bought at the current price on the day of the transfer (eg. if avg price of my TSLA stock was $500 before transferring now it’s showing $620). Now I’m freaking out because it seems like as a result I’ve erased all my historical gains on the stocks that I had bought at a much lower price years ago? Am I missing something or did I just lose all my unrealized gains by transferring?
My pension fund account finally hit 0% return yesterday. It was at 20% IRR at its peak.
TurboTax vs freetaxusa. Which is worth? I always did TT and paid close to 250 to them after all manual work. I don't think it's worth as any CPA would charge same. Thinking of switching to freetaxusa this year. Have short term cap gains and mortgage. Any recommendations?
Is becoming a CFP worth it? I’m considering going for it. I work at a family office and am already a CPA. Want to learn more about financial planning and think it may help market myself. TIA!

I’ve been contributing to our ROTH IRAs this year monthly. Didn’t max out for me and wife, but are close (and will by April deadline). We were under income thresholds by a good margin based on salary so I was fine contributing throughout the year… except I just got a massive unexpected bonus (yay) that shoots us over the income limits (I think). 1. Is the income limit based on AGI or before tax gross? 2. Assuming I’m over limit for 2021 based on AGI anyway, is there anyway to fix this?
I finally hit $400k. Congratulations to all of you hitting new milestones in this insane market. Hopefully, I’ll reach my $500k milestone before the end of this year.

I want to diversify my tech heavy portfolio. I have VTI which is super tech heavy. Any suggestions for ETFs and Index funds from other areas like consumer goods, real estate. Anything but S&P and Tech.
I see everyone screaming “buy the dip”. If you are going to I advise the strategy I learned when I started out 10/20/30, 1/2/3. Invest 1/3 of your cash on the sidelines when the stock falls 10%, another third at 20% and the rest at 30%. Definitely helped in March. This assumes you did your OWN research and analysis on the stocks you purchased. Junk is junk no matter what price you bought it.

I would recommend VTI or ITOT. I don’t understand what you are asking with any of your other questions
Vti. My initial investment was 1 share for idk $100? I have had it plus many others for 12+ years. I now have $500k.

If you don’t like the answers you just don’t need to respond. I suggested a basket of different stocks. Why pick just one?
