I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and just started medication treatment, and I didn’t realize something was missing this entire time. My brain finally feels so calm!!

Studying for the bar, and my first 2 years of practice exacerbated my symptoms so badly. I couldn’t keep up with the long hours at work! I feel like I have a fighting chance now!

I’m generally a person who likes to keep my firm life and personal life separate. I usually only do the happy hours and what not. I'm an experienced HRBP who's looking for some career advancement advice. I'm currently studying for my SPHR and looking to take the leap to HR Director roles. While I'm a strong HRBP, I've yet to manage a team. And while I train managers on people leadership skills, I myself, haven't had a chance to flex those muscles. Those in HR leadership, should I apply for HR Director roles even though I haven't managed a team?

Those of you Director/ VP level HR folks, what exactly do you do in terms of “strategic” HR? I earned my Director wings 1 year ago. When I started in HR I always wondered about the meetings my Director or VP would be in. Like what were these big cool things they’d be working on. Now I’m a Director with only a generalist under me so I get bogged down with the tactical stuff but I’m wondering am I missing out on what a Director level person should be doing.

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

I have been interviewing with a company for three weeks. One zoom call one week one zoom call the following and then finally an on-site meeting including the president and A tour of the facility. At the end of the interview the president said I would hear from them within 24 hours. It has now been two days and I have not heard from the recruiter the HR Director that would be my manager nor anyone else that I’ve interviewed with. Do I send an email to ask about an update? I am currently a recruiter working remote for a healthcare company but I would like to get back to Human Resources operations - I was an HR generalist from 2015-2017. I keep getting rejection emails(might be due to how long ago I did operations). I am open to working from the bottom up as long as the salary is where I am now… does anyone have an advice?

What do you include at the end of an online application? Is it necessary to include FCRA rights, an EoE clause, etc., or is it okay to remove this information and include it in the job posting/advertisement?
