Which would you take? Same job - 118k salary, 36k bonus Different job - 135k salary, 15k bonus Lose a little bit of vesting, but fresh start on the other side.

Different job, especially for you want that fresh start - salary is king.

Take the higher base salary, also taxed at a lower amount than bonuses

funny

Lol... the number of people continuing to think bonus is somehow classified differently than income and taxed higher.

like

I would stay, other thing to take into account is like 401k vesting which will restart in the new job.

take the different job, naturally D 1 will tell you to stay

Interviewed on the brand side with a very well known beauty company. They wanted to take my 5 years of experience and only pay $65k (NYC). The recruiter said I should really be flexible and be open to a salary cut if I want to move to the brand side. I know this such bullshit having done other interviews in the past.

I am completing Noogler period this month. I joined in January with 3-4 years of experience and Google offered me L3 Level and despite having other offers in hand, Google didn’t negotiate. And since Google was my dream company, I joined Google thinking I’ll ask for promotion in one year and do the hardwork. Till now I wasn’t having any problem. But now it starts mentally for me. So, I referred one of my friend from my same batch of college and previous organisation. contd. in comments!

I am in the process of negotiating an offer for a new job. At my current job, bonuses will be paid out on august 20th. The bonus is sizable so I would like to stay long enough to obtain it. Ideally, I would wait until the bonus hits my account before I put in my 2 weeks. If the new job wants me to start sooner than august 20th, is it acceptable to say that I want to stay because of the bonus, or should I give a different reason? Is it a bad look if I say I want to stay for the bonus?

Hi 🐠 two offers — would love to hear any insight: Offer 1: Walmart senior product manager: $200K base; $50k bonus, $40k stock vesting 4 years, $40k stock each year (vesting 4 years), $20k signing. TC YR1= $280k Offer 2: pre-ipo start up product manager, $145k base, $55k bonus, $40k shares, $15k signing. TC YR1=$225K. Work at startup is more interesting and greater WLB but not sure if the $$ makes it worth it. Thanks!
