Anything over 1.1 of high quality with a nice setting ๐๐๐

I like ~1 carat. But thereโs a lot more factors to consider than just carat size. Colour, cut, clarity all make a difference. I went with something just under 1 carat but great on the other Cโs.
In all honesty though I donโt wear my engagement ring anymore. Itโs a treasured memento but not practical for me day to day.
Diamond cut and color are significantly more than carat size. Cut is what makes it sparkle and gives it shape, typically you want to roll with VG. Color, Iโd say you can get away with anything rated H and above (or a really good I rating). Reason being: I is rated as near colorless, so the only time your average joe or Jane can tell difference between a H and B is when theyโre directly next to each other. Carat refers to total weight l, it doesnโt refer to quality. When you put it under a light you want it to pop, so get the best cut you can with . I donโt know if theyโre still in style but 5 years ago halo rings were the big rage. do not put bumper stickers on a Porsche. Iโd say go with 0.9 - 1.25 carat, VG cut, G - E Color, VS - VVS clarity (least important). One thing to remember, Color and Cut are a bit subjective, so shop around a bit, sometimes you can find an H grade color that looks like E but can find Vice verse too where an F looks like trash or find a good cut that really sparkles
I care a lot more about the shape and how it matches/fits with the wedding band since we have to wear both.
Take into account her hand size as well. A tiny hand with a โlargerโ ring looks ridiculous and is cumbersome.
This is so overlooked but so key! I have tiny hands (ring size 3.5) and tried on a couple larger carat rings - looked like a kid in costume jewelry lol
About 1 carat. Mine is a little under that and itโs perfect.
I think it depends where you live.. I used to live in Manhattan and rings were definitely a lot bigger than what most people would expect in the rest of the country.. I would say probably over 1.5 in nyc, 1 elsewhere. Also, as others have said, the other Cs matter a lot too.
Mine is slightly under a carat and it works for me
Get a CZ of whatever size you want and no one will ever be able to tell. Take the cost savings for a nice honeymoon.
