1. Gratitude journal - cheesy? Maybe, but use it for a month and see what it does for you
2. Let the negative thoughts pass like a leaf in the wind. Simply identify it โ€œah yes thatโ€™s a thoughtโ€ and move forward. Itโ€™s not easy and take practice but itโ€™s stuff like this (and similar DBT techniques) that have helped me SO much

Have a true IIED case (negligent handling of corpse). Defendants defaulted and I am now considering the best course forward to get my client the best recovery. Less than a year before I can retire and not sure I can make it. The stress at home, work and with the aches and pains of my 54 year old body are taking their toll. I wake up every weekday and dread the coming 14 hour day. I live for the bliss of two days off on the weekend when I can attempt to just ignore everything until Monday morning.

Is it normal for my psychiatrist to ask to schedule an appointment to lower the dose of my Ritalin XR prescription?

Had a therapist who encouraged me to quit my job to be happy. Also encouraged me to not settle with my girlfriend because Iโ€™ll regret it (like how he regrets getting married). Ended up quitting my job and became more miserable, poor and suicidal. Havenโ€™t seen my girlfriend due to long distance and COVID and we might break up soon. Did I just find a bad therapist or is it normal to project your own regrets to your patients?

To those stressed about relationships, relationships are hard even for non-lawyers, but you are absolutely worthy of love. It is an important reminder for all of us that you are worthy and you are valuable. Keep fighting!
