Who do I contact within Accenture to advise that my last day is today? Not a troll.

You need to contact your Career Counselor and let them know. Then, there is a page in the portal to submit your resignation. Search for separation, and you can find it.

Why can't you give 2 weeks notice? Are you on a project? If so, are they aware?

Leaving without any notice leaves you ineligible for a re-hire later. It will also burn bridges with people you might want to keep in your professional network. Just keep that in mind.

like

I am almost certain you can't move without prior approval. We have the same thing, I am almost sure it is a standard, that miving from vendor to client or the other way around, requires bith sides prior approval. Obviously that process requires a lot of support from projects leadership for that individual. I think you got yourself in a cery bad position here. You might have talked to people who don't fully understand the process or the MSA.

Get a time machine. Go back two weeks and post this question again.

like

So you took an offer with the client. If ACN has a non compete, you're about to be fucked.

like

Hold on, I'm really confused about your situation. Did you just accept the offer today, and they want you to start on Monday? I'm not sure if I have ever heard of a company that did not expect someone to give two weeks notice to their previous employer.

Also, it sounds like you will still be working with the ACN team there. Do you really want to leave them like this?

like

Not giving 2 weeks isn't too smart. Guess you're ok with burning bridges

like

Contact your mentor, your immediate project lead and HR - in that order. Offer 2 weeks notice.

like

So you don't care about burning the relationship?

like

Offer to provide 2 weeks anyway. They're going to say they don't need it but it's nice to offer anyway since you're on the beach.

like

Agree with ACN3. But only managers and above have a non-compete, and it only keeps you from providing "professional services as a contractor" at a client for whom you've worked. It explicitly states that you can accept a job at a client.

So, this guy should be ok from that perspective. However, sounds like a shady company and a super awkward working situation.

like

Did this once. Burned a consulting firm I loved working for to go work for my client that completely changed on me once I became an employee. I would advise against this.

like

The phrase "burning bridges" doesn't just refer to your own company. People talk, and there's a good chance your new superiors (who currently maintain a strong working relationship with Accenture) will be less than pleased if they found out about the way you informed Accenture of your departure. Number 1 it doesn't look very professional and number 2 it might involve them in some legal issues (see non-competes raised above).

like

Needed to wait till my position was finalized to submit my resignation. Again, serious question.

like

Really sounds like a stupid, not well thought of move. Do you know even if your MSA allies you to move to your client? Mine says you cannot for a year after being on the engagement. Unless you've talked to people about this previously within Accenture? (It doesn't sound like it though if you're just asking this question now).

Client can't make offers unless it's approved by project leadership. This was obviously done. Project has been aware of the departure for some time. Formal process through HR hasn't been done.

like

Accenture Portal > Career & Benefits tab > Employee Administration sub-tab > Select "Exiting Accenture US"

like

Unique situation where Accenture has no responsibility to backfill for my responsibilities as I will remain in my role but convert to the client. Accenture has no need for KT. But agreed I should have left 2 weeks notice but I couldn't without putting myself at risk.

like

The page is called "Exiting Accenture US".

like

Then wtf did you not formally put in your resignation and speak to anyone? If, as you mentioned above, project leadership knew - where is your issue? Either you talked to people or you didn't - I am lost...

Need advice: Received a race and gender discrimination complaint from an employee involving 2 company C-level execs, one of them to whom I report. Usually I would conduct my own internal investigation. Since this involves the highest levels, I can’t escalate it, I’m not an employment law expert, I’m a generalist. My plan is to involve our outside employment counsel. Usually I go through one of the execs before interacting with outside counsel. (Continued in comments)

If you attach a writing or project grading rubric in Google Classroom, do you also make specific comments on the kids’ docs or in the box under the numerical grade? Some colleagues tell kids to look back at the rubric and add nothing; others are taking WAY too much time on each student’s work, so there’s too much turnaround time. Have any of you used an audio extension for recording your feedback? I’d love to hear what’s working for you. We are exhausted, but we’re still teaching!

Income: $200k or $8.8k net per month. Of that $8.8k…
20% goes to mortgage and recurring utilities and car insurance
45-55% discretionary spending including food, drinks, gas, clothing, retail, leisure, etc.
25% to savings (HYS)
8% to brokerage and crypto

In addition, I max out Roth 401k and HSA. The $8.8k in income per month is after those are funded.

Next raise should put me at a base of $230k-ish.

I had my PHR back in early 2000, then made a career change to a paramedic (I know, right). I called SHRM and they said I'm eligible to test again even though I only currently have 1.5 yrs of HR.

I purchased the online study guide and it seems that HR has gone in a completely different direction - more operations related than employee relations etc.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks - lauren
