Came here to say I appreciate the choice of the word flummoxed

I can’t think of one thing we do that accommodates mothers.. wonder what the criteria for selection to these hallowed halls is..

Internal Firm Services...they are the only ones with the time on their hands to fill in the survey lol

Great word choice, “flummoxed”! Might have to steal it this week. 😁

Almost all of those lists are pay to play. It's all BS. Just ignore them.

Well, I recently moved from KPMG to EY and I know EY offers the below benefits: 1. ~ 16 weeks of parental leave. 2. ~ $25,000 towards fertility treatments. May be time to move.

Don’t you get the 4 months paternity / maternity leave?

^^^^ uh no. We are behind the other firms there.

I agree. I assume it applies to the internal BPG roles!

I think someone else posted KPMG offers zero fertility benes as well.

They don’t even know who are Mother’s/ parents and who are not.. or do they care!

How do you all feel about splitting vacations 50/50 in a relationship and dates 60/40? I might be old fashioned but this rubs me the wrong way. I feel like I have to work 2x as hard to be taken seriously at work as a woman and pay for all kinds of crap like hair appts, nails, makeup, outfits to be viewed positively by men. Not to mention, expensive birth control, periods, and eventually potentially having a child. 50/50 makes me feel like a friend and not that valued. Thoughts?

Went in for a scan yesterday because I was having spotting and cramping at 12 weeks. The OB saw fluid behind the baby’s neck and is referring us to see a high risk doctor immediately. NIPT was negative. I’m panicking. Have any of you been through this?

Seeing a fertility doc after having a miscarriage in May and not having success getting pregnant since. They suggested we do IUI but recommended genetic testing, HSG and blood work prior to it. Has anyone had bloodwork done and been told they lost their immunity to MMR and Varicella (Chicken pox)? Being told this puts things on hold for another 3 months to get these vaccines.

Has anyone experienced prenatal depression? I’m 10 weeks pregnant with my 2nd (I have a 1.5 yo) - I’ve always been a very happy person, so these new emotions have hit me like a ton of bricks. Pregnancy has been very easy, no sickness, no side effects. Just the nonstop crying and feeling overwhelmed no matter what. I have a lot of love and support so I feel stupid falling apart.

My mom decided that tonight she’d confess: 25 yrs ago she told me my 1st choice college did not give us any financial aid and I couldn’t go there (so I went where we had it). She admitted I almost got a free ride but she didn’t want me to go there so she lied. I feel betrayed. Loved my school and have no regrets. Just feel manipulated.

I’m frustrated that I’m always expected to do everything for our LO since I’m working from home. Five days a week, I do all the drop offs and pickups. When the baby is napping, I prep all her bottles and solids to pack with for daycare. Today, on top of everything else I had to take our dog to the vet. My husband hasn’t even offered to do anything because it’s easier for me to do it.

Doing some benchmarking as we revisit our leave policy. Do any of your firms offer external career coaching for transitioning into / then back from parental leave? Any organizations you’d recommend or things you’ve found to be particularly helpful / successful? Thank you!

Moms, both husband and I are nearing the end of our parental leave. We live in a two bedroom in NYC. We are thinking of hiring a nanny. The plan is that I would work from one room and husband would work from another room. We can move the changing table and pack n play in the living room, and the nanny and the baby can hang in the living room. Does this sound like a good plan?

I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
