What useful information you are trying to get here ? Or just being an typical showoff #toomanyprickslikeyou
Fair question. I don't think most people in this industry understand how they come off to the rest of the world, but you're right. As you were.
$50k spend on united planes. That's the main requirement. McK1 it's actually a huge upgrade over 1K but more in how they treat you than just the perks. The points guy has a good summary :)
And for thread, yes I got it. $90k spend, ~350k PQM
Got it
What's this in reference to?
Wow, P2 comes out swinging. OP is just looking for a little sympathy.
🙋 didn't think I was going to. They must give priority to people with GS already
What's your favorite GS perk? I like being able to use upgrades on flights purchased with miles. (Runner up... private check-in that cuts to the front of pre-check, but only ~4 airports).
@D3 why contribute to a thread u don't care about?
I flew >200k & >$75k. Criteria is "secret" but supposedly $50k is minimum and is a mix of many other things such as fare classes.
They can create award saver tickets if there aren't any allocated for a flight. For example flying internationally. Might just be normal award for sale (such as 160,000 points) but I can get for 80,000 they make.
The GS criteria is not as complicated as people think. It's basically top 1% of revenue spend for your home airport. It's also manual though so they make some judgment call adjustments (e.g., if you were GS the previous year they're a little more lenient).
I don't know about that... Pretty sure it takes profitability into account (i.e. high margin fare classes like refundable first are more likely to get you there)
🙄
#3, not seeing your family all week? It's not as cool as you think it is, and talking about it makes the other 99.9% of the world think you're a total douche. Because I don't either is true, I'll excuse it up to this point. Let's redirect this thread into "best crazy travel stories"...
Yeah so what are the real benefits of GS over 1K?
Also how many miles did you fly and what do you think the estimated total spend was?
Wuzzat even mean
Interesting. Good to know!
It's about how profitable you are to them. You could spend $50k on discount economy fares and not get it, but do 3 RT business class international trips and get it.
