Me and my wife! We moved just for lifestyle reasons. We wanted better weather - less heat and humidity vs the southeast with lots of sunshine. We also wanted to be near the mountains so we could hike, ski and enjoy the outdoors. We needed to be near a major airport for work. We didn’t like the winters in the PNW. CA is too expensive and far from my family in FL. That left Denver or SLC. I’ve lived in a red state and wanted to avoid that - with the recent Supreme Court rulings I’m glad we made that call. Now we live in the mountains 45 mins from Denver and WFH. Love it here.
Wow, that's awesome! I moved here because of the weather too, coming from Maine and I was tired of the harsh winters. Are you around Colorado Springs?

Lifestyle. We spent 10 years in Chicago and it was incredible. Eventually we found ourselves taking vacations to places for outdoor recreation and wanted to be able to spend our weekends doing these things. Not that you can’t ride a bike or ski in the surrounding Chicago area but it’s not the same. We had Denver, SLC, San Fran and LA on the shortlist. Wife got an amazing job offer in Denver and I can live anywhere near an airport. We live in a downtown neighborhood on the north side and absolutely love it.

Chicago: Wicker Park -> Denver: Sunnyside. Have other friends who did the same move but Chicago: Lincoln Park to Denver: Wash Park.
We are kind of hipsters and they’re kind of preppy. I don’t find Denver granola at all. Depending on your definition of grunge, places like Cap Hill are definitely more fringe but it’s harmless. Move to the Cherry Creek (not the suburb) or Country Club neighborhoods in Denver and you’ll be perfect!
