It depends
Probably plaintiff because less determined by billables I’m assuming?
I’m a plaintiffs’ PI attorney at a small but successful firm. We have it pretty good. Most days I’m out by 6pm. Occasional weekend work, depending on what’s going on. Obviously, if a trial is coming up, those hours will change, but overall it’s not bad. With the nature of the practice, though, there isn’t a lot of opportunity to work remotely. Only time I do is on the weekend or when I’m sick.
For context: first year salary of $75k plus bonus, 401k profit sharing, and full health insurance premiums. In MA/RI.
Transactional attorneys
Plaintiff. Definitely plaintiff.
I’m in insurance defense and definitely feeling the truth in this. How does one switch to plaintiff work?
I’m at a plaintiffs firm and will say it’s not always better. End up working a lot of long nights and many weekends. Kind of wish there were billables to keep an account of my hours!
