My agency hasn't given me a raise or promotion in almost 3 years... I feel like this is insane considering I've won awards and helped to bring in new biz. Are my expectations too high? What's the longest you've gone without a raise before making a drastic change?
I’m getting average reviews and should be up for promotion this fall. There is also a business need for a manager. How likely is it that my team finds an external candidate and skips over me for promotion?
Boss is cool giving me some minor additional responsibilities on projects (delegating to other creatives, leading client presentations). How can I parlay this into a promotion to Senior AD? Or ACD?
What are typical promotion timelines at RSM management consulting? Had a friend get promoted and it seems very fast but curious how much of a stud he is! Thanks!
In a tough situation and need some advice. I’m an audit associate who got passed up for senior promotion this year, but senioring a busy season engagement. There is another senior that is supposed to be on the job, but he hasn’t been staffed on the engagement the past couple weeks and is off this week. I now have the full responsibility of this engagement on my hands and feel like it’s pretty unfair considering I got passed up for promotion and am not getting paid to be a senior. What do I do?
Has anyone gone on maternity or paternity leave while going up for promotion in the same year that is willing to share story or any impact?
The hustle culture is killing me. Working until midnight everyday with no salary raise this year. Is it time to move? Just heard Deloitte people are getting raise this year.
I joined Accenture exactly at the end of band. Will it affect my appraisals is even 0% hike possible if I joined at the band end. Example band end at 21 for level 9. Will I not get any hikes. What is rating required in Accenture for promotion. Is DA, or meets expectations rating can give promotions in Accenture. Unit : Accenture technology Work profile : Digital skills. Thanks
Resigned my job and my company made me a counter offer that matches my new job offer. The caveat is that the raise won’t apply until Q2. Why the hell would they even bother making an offer like that?
Does Kearney have a much faster promotion cycle than most consulting firms? Why am I seeing Managers with barely 4-5 years of experience? Would like to see what the promotion timeline looks like if anyone can share!
Found out that my partner, who is an ACD is making more than I am as a CD. Problem is I can't reveal how I found out to my boss, so I don't know how to bring this up and ask for a raise.
Does EY do early promotion?
Has anyone here (especially BCGers) taken a leave of absence in the past? Have you described it in the application as an employment break? If not, how’ve you explained your promotion isn’t on time?
Found out I didn’t get a promotion I’d been expecting. Taking it pretty hard. What’s even harder is I have to sit through/present in a two hour client presentation immediately after. Turning off my camera every time I don’t have to speak to quickly cry.
Hi fishes Currently working as Analyst with Deloitte-I in visualization competency with fixed pay 6.7 LPA and expected to get a promotion next year. I received a offer from Bain capability network to join their visualization team with fixed pay of8 LPA as an Analyst only. For that I will also have to pay back my joining bonus of 1.5 LPA to DI and I wont be able to avail my performance bonus of FY 20-21 i.e. 50k i.e. leaving DI will cost me 2LPA and a promotion next year . Shall I join BCN?
Just wanted to remind my fellow creatives that agencies need us more than we need them. It’s important to be respectful, but don’t be afraid to speak up, push back, ask for a raise, ask for time off or quit. The value we bring to the table is fundamental, very hard to replace and is often overlooked by us and leadership. Agencies everywhere are in overdrive mode and creatives are being overworked to keep the engine moving. Make sure you’re compensated properly for it.
Say you work at Accenture and are doing OK (haven't been laid off yet and have projects lined up). Also let's say that you have good skills in cloud infrastructure, which is plenty busy right now. What would motivate you to accept a job offer at a tiny consulting firm (less than 300 people)? Would a good raise and a promotion to Senior Manager be enough? There are many risks involved with going to a tiny firm. What would it take for you make the jump and overcome concerns?
Have been invited to reapply to BCG but I’m also ~ 4 months away from a promotion to manager. Should I wait until after promotion? Hope would then to be able to come in as consultants as opposed to senior associate (I don’t have 4 yoe)
Looking for advice I left big 4 soon after getting a promotion SM. But i got my promotion after a long time (3 years) . I was told i was a star performer but i felt i was taken for a ride. I joined industry as a manager but a good salary jump. A few weeks in the job, i feel i may made a mistake. The title is manager and i feel i should have stuck to consulting. Any suggestions on how i should think for my next steps? Should i continue in industry and try for a promotion here or move back asap?
When getting promoted from analyst to senior analyst, is raise expected without asking? Usually how much more is given?? 🤑
I feel trapped. I hate consulting, hard work, corporate life in general. I have so much student debt after MBA school that I have to take these high paying jobs that require a lot of effort but I just don’t think I’m built to do this forever. I don’t spend much on other things but it’s scary what happens to my finances if I make a major purchase like a house, have a kid, etc. Not sure if I’m asking for advice or rambling
What’s a typical salary for a manager in a valuation group? (HCOL) both internal promotions and external hires (big4/non big 4).
Interviewed at Amazon made it to loop and they said good fit for Amazon but not the role. Recruiter said she would like me to go for Vendor Manager role. I now have an informational call with the manager fir another role. Has this happened to anyone and if so any advice?
Just graduated and got an acct mgmt internship for the summer. Am hoping to get a full time offer, but want to plan for the worst. When should I begin looking for positions at other agencies?
We have a leader who likes to use casual rap slang (he’s a white male) to be funny. Nothing overtly offensive or derafatory, just like “word” or other things...just occasionally...though while speaking internally. I heard a couple complaints that it’s not sensitive (from people who are not of bipoc) - thoughts? Does this need a talk?
How long does it take (typically) to get promoted to a manager or senior consultant position? Currently starting off as an analyst at Deloitte
Vacation Question- Westin vs W (Paris)?
Got my 4th final round interview rejection this month and feeling really bummed, 2 of them at FAANGs. I always get feedback like “Team loved me, would have brought me and it wasn’t b/c of your interview performance but someone else “was a better fit” or “had more experience”.” I have 3 YOE (1 non consulting) and really sick of not being good enough and consistently striking out as “2nd place”. What do these people have that I don’t have? How can I be better? Just tired of getting no results.
Flunked out during final rounds at Deloitte and PwC recently. Interviewed with A&M and received an offer with a handsome increase. I was barely asked any questions during the interview process and I am starting to wonder if: a.) there’s a push for minority hires b.) the job is going to be some bs. 🧐🤔
🐠 fam - I am 31, F on a H1B and graduated from Top 12ish b-school. I want to quit my job, travel around the world and start my own business but not sure how to do so on H1B. Any advice?
Curious for thoughts on why a firm who laid off associates last year—many of whom “just happened” to be parents—is celebrated by Diversity Lab and other organizations for its diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts? Or, in any event, why does anyone in the Big Law industry put up with such blatant levels of hypocrisy?
Can someone please define a radio “image spot” for me? Came up in an interview and would greatly appreciate any insight. Thanks!!
USAA or Navy Federal Credit Union?
My SO has been a pot smoker for nearly 20 years. He's smoked nearly daily since he started in college, sometimes multiple times a day. I've always had issues with it, but since he was high functioning I didn't mind it too much until we recently had a child together. After baby was born, he continues to smoke multiple times a day and didn't have a problem with his family smoking in the house until I called him out and got into a huge fight.
