Who here has obtained an SAP certification? Do you feel like it's been as valuable to your career as you thought it would be? Did you pay out of pocket or did your company cover it?

Just go an open SAP certification for free. I don't think certifications matter in SAP space

Depends where you work, probably the educational aspect is more valuable than the certification unless your client requires it

I come from a very low socioeconomic background (Asian, Male, Straight), came to the states at age 14. Since graduating from top 25 UG school in Econ, I've been supporting my parents. My dad lost his job since 2016.
With that said, I really want to pivot to IB. But I just don't see myself being able to afford FT M7 MBA and I will need to work to send money to my parents.
So I'm looking at PT Booth. Is PT MBA really unrecognized and looked down upon?
I can do M7 FT, but prefer not to. GMAT 760.

My glowing review, complete with the “it’s not a matter of ‘if’ you’ll make partner but ‘when’” line, resulted in a $4,000 salary increase. For the third year in a row.

I billed 200 more hours than last year and earned another certification. Now at $76k in a low to mid COL area. Top 25 firm.

Is it time to jump ship?

How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Will be starting my first in-house role in the next few months. Coming from ~10 years at a boutique firm doing general counsel type work for government clients. Will be transitioning into the energy sector.

Does anyone have any tips for things that I could do between now and my actual start that would be helpful to hit the ground running? Any suggestions for things specific to the energy sector and/or in-house life generally would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Guys!
I am a Senior SF Admin with 9 years of SF experience. Mostly I look after a team consisting of Admins and do all usual Admin stuff plus BA/Consultant work. I recently got a very good offer from a Product company but the job role is Salesforce Support Manager. Though I don't mind being in support vertical but I am worried that I might drift away from SFDC Domain and get involved more in the Support process and eventually take my career away from Salesforce.
What do you guys think?

Thoughts on leaving tech sales at Salesforce for a career in medicine? Of course having to study medicine first of all... from an age POV it would be fine (in my early 20s) but thinking about starting a new career and the long road of an md makes me anxious

Had an Excel assessment yesterday as the second to last step in an interview process. I was using a new computer and long story short, had some technical difficulties (or maybe just my own incompetence under stress) and ended up only getting through half of the test. I’m on the fence about emailing my recruiter and explaining the circumstances/asking for a retest. Don’t want to come off like I’m complaining but also don’t want this to be the reason I don’t move forward. Any advice appreciated…
