$140 base, 6 YOE. 45-50 hours/week but easily over half is spent listening in meetings and just coaching my team and about 6-8 is spent traveling so it doesn’t feel rough at all. Biggest game changer is having a boss that trusts me. For the actual work I am doing myself it’s interesting and innovative work I enjoy. Will be kicking myself if I stray from this as I’m actually really happy professionally right now
I’m fairly happy with mine:
- Have been working full time for 14 years
- Avg 50-55 hour weeks in a BU lead role in tech
- Find the work interesting and impactful, have free weekends + time for gym/dinner most weeknights
- Total comp is mostly equity based so varies with stock price (down lately), was $4-8m the last 3 years
Fwiw, I was a jr. partner at a consulting firm before this, made about $1m a year there and worked 60+ hours with travel, did not find it to be a good WLB.
Would love to know more about how you made the transition what you did before etc

I don’t want to jinx it - but I’m sort of semi retired and coasting making 300k at age 47.
Individual contributor role - very technical.
Wife makes over 400k in industry at age 42 and I’ve no reason to push any harder.
I manage all the house work plus my job from home in less than 30 hours a week. Nap in the afternoon, gym in the middle of day, coach soccer at 5pm.
🙏
Director1 - you sir have nailed it!
450k, 8 YOE, 30-40 hours/week

What am I supposed to do? Answering the question. This pile on is why you’re not hearing from others on this platform who make way more than me and therefore leads to a skewed perspective

Very happy. 35-40/week, 4 YOE, C, ~162k TC
Wow, I only have slightly less experience, but came in at 100k, but I am part of a non-tech team
I smell a lot of bool sheet
Skeptical perhaps, but not jealous of dood having to flash bool sheet
Happy for the most part, though my comp is on the low end for my role
Google PM (Machine Learning),15 YOE, $880K W2 in 2022. Ex-McK EM.
Work about 40-50 hours a week
What’s the vesting period on the stock?
110 total comp, 10 actual work, 10 listening to meetings, 30 being available, and no weekend work. Loving it currently but varies by project
I wish I only had 10 of meetings… 7:30 to 5:15 straight with a couple 5-10 min breaks 😭😭😭

Honestly, me. Just joined last year, making 175k as an Associate. But I had much worse WLB and pay as a grad student.
175k base? Or TC? Seems low for post-MBA MBB TC? I’m just curious (going to mba myself this year)
3.5 YOE, Senior Associate, ~$230TC; I work a lot which sometimes is a grind, but considering my YOE and TC I often think I am getting the better end of the deal. Up for Mgr this as well which would push total comp somewhere around $260
No B-school although considering going back as sponsored for a break and the network. The work can be stressful when there is a lot and it feels impossible to get everything done. Also you have to be comfortable defending your positions and decisions when you are put on the spot by partners. But also exciting when things are moving quickly and the work is interesting
174 base and between 10-30k bonus depending on year. I work 20 a week for the past 4 years. Life has been great.
What’s your role at Citi? 20 a week is amazing!
Very happy. Total comp isn’t much, I’m sitting at around 110~. But I’m 25 and work only a few hours a week (5-10 maybe) completely remote. Life is so chill!
Time >> money
Age 39. 350k base, another 200k+ in dividends (picked the right stocks at the right) time. Less than 40hr most weeks. 5M+ net worth. Will retire by 45 and start traveling the world.
Happy everyone!
The value increased significantly after he purchased them…

$80k, 3 YOE, 5-10 hours a week (not a joke)

I’m in CIG brother, there is no “staffing” for me 😂
Very happy. KPMG. 14 YOE. Biz Dev. $550K
MD1 - I was great at delivery but had natural inclination to building/selling new offerings. Had excellent mentors/Partners along the way that took me under their wings to teach me the art of selling. I made them a lot of money before I took a risk to come here. It’s been paying off financially and from a WLB perspective.
There’s 150+ comments on this post and ~0 from “Deloitted” folks 😅

A bunch of ex-Deloitte though!

135k base/20 hrs a week
If you want consulting work, you can have mine. What!? Im jealous
63 hours on avg, $260K. Decently happy
170K 12 YOE 40-45hrs.
This is the only post in this chat group which seems realistic.
Fairly happy. 4.5 YOE, 215K TC. Been able to manage 40-50 hrs / week but is flexible enough
Every audit team has a data science arm, it's in demand now. I'm transitioning from an audit data science team myself and making a similar jump (going to another firm though)

Extremely happy.
Slalom, 7 YOE, $185K
Rarely work more than 24 hours in a week.
Do you bill more than 24 hrs a week?
Chief
$178K TC, 30-45 hours a week, 5.5 YOE + MBA

Again, I don't think it's that important in Strategy as long as it's from a Target or comparable program. I got mine at a non-target, T20, but you should be fine anywhere in the T40 (i.e., reputable program).
