A and it’s not close.
Both. NYC is responsible for 50% of active cases in the US right now, if you go home to visit family you run the risk of infecting your family or others in your home town as well.
Even in NYC it is almost impossible to get tested. 3 friends and I have symptoms (loss of smell, dry cough, chest pain). They only test those older than 70 or people who are very very ill.
A) fully responsible for their choice B) possibly need to go home to be with family or immunocompromised and escaping a dangerous environment
Not exactly true for B
Leaving NYC is fine. But don’t leave and go back to life as normal right away in the new city.
Yea. Nobody wants the burden of New Yorkers when they themselves are going to be struggling in the near future.
Still, if you own a place there, you should be allowed to go. The key is that you don’t get anyone else sick. So 14 days of strict quarantine. If we can’t do that, then we need to stay in NYc

What’s the definition of “recent” for the leaving nyc mandate ?
Sorry the advice was for anyone leaving NYC to self-quarantine for 14 days. Not sure if there were any time blinds on when you were there.

Not sure you can compare people making a deliberate choice (spring breakers) to people who happen to live in the epicenter of a pandemic who are trying to make a good decision for themselves and their families. Yes, quarantine yourselves per guidelines, but in my opinion, NYers some of the ones who are actually following shelter-in-place guidelines despite no formal orders given how vulnerable people there are because of population density. Spring breakers are making dumb decisions out of selfishness and causing the rest of us to suffer since this will never be over until people lock down.
Spoken like a true New Yorker.
