Hey MBB fish - across the entire US, which specific office at your firm is known as the best if you consider WLB + office culture as the biggest factors? Conversely, which office typically has the worst reputation in these aspects?
Cross posting from the Creatives bowl: Got laid off while facing long Covid and feeling out of options. Any advice on how to get a decent severance package?

Staff has been back in the office full time since Nov. 7th - Document Services has been riddled with colds, Covid scares and commuting fears. Management says attorneys need document services in office 24/7. Do you think there is a real Firm Need for on-site document services? Note - PA/Secretary is separate from Document Services. Not printing, not mailroom, just technical doc work. Also, NY Doc Svcs Night Shift is worried about muggings when commuting, Chicago highway shootings.
Has anyone gone moved to from finance to tech and enjoyed/regretted it? Lost my job to covid and my options right now are between a vba developer for a large asset management firm (creating dashboards) and a QA engineer for a start up (I can code quite well). Is this goodbye to Finace if I take up the latter?
Let's know what companies are doing to Thier employees at this COVID-19 time . Take this survey and in 3 days I'll visualize it and share it publically http://bit.ly/COVID19_WFH Interesting information I've collected alread
Has anyone used the RAPID NYC COVID test tents? I got a rapid test 30m ago but haven’t heard back yet (they say 15m)
WL at Kellogg but $$$ at Booth. Just for my own self justification - are the two schools that different in culture and students profile? When I applied, I know there are differences but didn’t think it would be that much. I even think I have more chance at Kellogg than Booth. I know I’m lucky (only apply 2 for R1) and I’m grateful for Booth with scholarship. Congrats to all my Kellogg fellows today!
Here’s an animated chart that shows how COVID-19 cases and deaths have grown globally compared to their causes of death like fire, influenza, and malaria over the same time frame. The timeline begins on January 1, 2020, and COVID-19 starts at the very bottom of the chart with zero deaths. https://public.flourish.studio/visualisation/2634167/?fbclid=IwAR3SfwQFl7UkyJ-DIYp1D_Y1idQM-tHdpuqVdK7SpMxqNI2sA-dO7-5qFS8
India China border tension, Pakistan infiltration and death of army men, argument with Nepal over border. I thought fighting coronavirus is messed up, this whole border issues couldn’t have come at a worse time. What should India do? Just an anxiety led rant. Is it only me who feels so disturbed.
Just started in consulting 2 weeks ago don’t really know what’s going on , which way to turn or hoe to prepare myself. The people seek nice but haven’t step foot in the building to meet anyone in person due to covid so it’s hard to truly tell. Haven’t been on an engagement yet just lost
Was anyone else looking to buy a home before COVID-19? Are you proceeding as usual or have you changed your plans or timeline? This is for personal property not investment property.
Do any other women go batshit crazy when you have a new potential love interest? I.e. extensive social media research, turning it over and over in your head to gauge various scenarios, over analyzing compatibility from their traits and various scenarios? I can chalk some of it up to COVID boredom since I wasn’t this crazy when I had stuff to do, but some overthinking has always been there.
Question time! Two part. 1) What dating sites or apps are you on and 2) do you feel like it’s been particularly tough dating in your 30s/40s during COVID, assuming that we probably date (on average) more seriously than 20s peeps? I personally have only been on one date! A zoom one last week.
Help — would love to get into production but I have 0 experience, besides the occasional talent + competitive research for a brand’s series. How do I get started? Really just want to help out on set* and see how things work! *Covid pending / future aspirations
Anyone heard of Fiddler.ai in the Bay Area? Thoughts on that place and their tech? Company culture? Anything is helpful. Of course I looked them up in Google, but I want to know more.

How's WLB in E&Y GDS especially for SAP projects? How was Work from home before covid.. was it mandatory to go to office? E&Y
Car Tire gurus - Yokohama Avid Ascend GT vs LX. I live in CO so winter capability is important, but with a Subaru Outback the car already is well equipped. Question is whether or not the GT is that much better in the snow that it is worth foregoing an extra 20,000 miles potential tread life with the LX. I’m leaning LX, but welcome all thoughts!
MBB folks on H1-B who recently switched to FAANG - did you run into any issues with visa transfer? My transfer has been filed and I’m a bit nervous about USCIS’ perception of consultants and the current sentiment around H1-B visas.
How much do people who exit to industry make with 4-5 years of consulting experience and overall 8-9 years of experience? (Both business and tech roles) Looking for answers from FAANG exits and other exits including startups. Asking cuz I feel the range is too broad. I believe it is anywhere between 130k to 200k (Total comp) (Please also mention cities along with total comp)
I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
I am doing UXR interviews, and although I read that a background in design isn’t necessary for UXR, I have been asked a few times now whether I have experience in design and can use design apps. I have applied research experience and a solid understanding of product development, which I think should land me a UXR role one day, but I’d to hear any thoughts though if you think design knowledge is necessary for UXR?
Accenture Senior manager, $192k bade, total comp ~$210 -225k. What should I expect for Slalom fixed and variable comp?
I am teaching a week long summer course for students with ASD. I will be leading a morning meeting for 30-60 minutes daily, then meeting with each student for 30 minutes daily, all over Zoom. I need ideas for how to make morning meeting meaningful for all students. I'll have students in 3rd, 6th, 7th, and 11th grades.

Several PPMD and Senior Manager level colleagues that I’ve worked with over the past year have recently asked for my mailing address. My assumption is that I’ll receive a holiday card from these people or… a gift? 0 expectations here but is this a common practice? Should I be sending them something in return?
Would it be insane to buy a 1 bd home if there’s a possibility of having a kid in the next ~3 years? Assuming we’d have to look for a 2 bd if we do have a kid and try to rent/sell the 1 bd
I'm thinking of going freelance / contract. How does health / dental / eye work? I'm Canadian so this is rather 'foreign' to me.
