Hello,
Last Wednesday I was able to get a Deloitte job referral, I applied the next day. Yesterday I signed in to my account and it shows that I applied for the job but when I click on the link it show me an error page. I searched for the job on the website itself and it disappeared. There were like multiple positions but different locations, now they’re all expired. What does this mean? Did they choose a candidate already? It’s weird it never happened to me before
Thank you in advance 🙏🏻
Anyone hiring in SF?

Many #machinelearning algorithms, whether supervised or unsupervised, make use of distance measures.
Take k-NN for example, a technique often used for supervised learning. As a default, it often uses euclidean distance.
By itself, a great distance measure.
Knowing when to use which distance measure can help you go from a poor classifier to an accurate model.

And happy Fourth of July to all 🇺🇸

Nope. It’s all bullshit. Do what’s right for you, and just explain it in the next interview. Try not to explain it in a way that shits on the job or people there, just that it wasn’t a good fit and not what you expected.
People talk so much shit about rules like that, and ok, maybe if you can’t hold down a job for more than three months at several places in a row, it’s indicative of a problem with your work ethic, but only an idiot you probably wouldn’t want to work for anyway would commend you for sticking it out at a job you hate just so you could say you spent a year there.
On the other hand, you could be happy to have gotten an entry-level job in an industry is flooded by hundreds of entry-level portfolios who never get hired
I am very grateful for that, but I guess grateful and happy’s two different things. Or maybe I just want too much
To whatever extent the one year thing is a guideline, the thinking is that leaving a place quickly means (to the next people who want to hire you) that you dont see things through, that you only care whether you’re enjoying the job, that if they hired you and three months later you might leave on a whim...in other words that you’re a quitter, and didnt think twice about kind of screwing your employer over.
As you can see by most of the advice here, that’s kind of old thinking. Its very 2019 to “do you,” to leave because you “arent feeling it,” etc.
It’s true that you can just call it freelance on your resume. It’s also true that you’ll see these coworkers again down the line, and reputations matter. And finally—since you’re a Junior—it could also be true that you’re just finding out what its like to have a job....that every day isnt “inspiring” and kickass like instagram says it should be.
You should take all that into account before you just bail. You can also try talking to your boss about what you were promised vs what’s happening, if its really that different. Good luck. 😃
If the paid a relocation fee, you’ll have to reimburse a prorated chunk of it. Just hang out for a year.
I agree with everyone who says you should do what makes sense for you instead of blindly following a rule.
Three months into your first job in the industry, though? And your chief complaint is that you only get to work on one account so far?
That’s barely enough time to kill a houseplant. At least try to make it through an entire season of Dancing with the Stars.
Sooo it turns out the longest season of Dancing with the Stars was 3.5 months. But yes, I’m worried that I won’t be able to produce anything on this one account and wouldn’t be able to leave the longer I stay, given the expectation that I ought to have produced work in my book if I was full time for a year. There’s also no possibility of working on pitches or other accounts because there isn’t any. It’s basically an in-house masquerading as an agency.
Look after yourself. If they have to make cuts after three months, they wouldn’t hesitate to cut you. Find your spot and protect your sanity/career/money.
Also you can just list this job as freelance if it's shorter than 8 months
Keep in mind that the bait and switch thing happens a lot. What was promised?
That’s gonna happen a lot. It happens at senior levels too
If it’s that bad, get out. The year thing is not always a thing. Mental health comes first.
OP hello me again. What city are you in? Im curious how busy it is, how much might be going on across town, how you might be able to finnagle an offer etc
Hey! I’m based in NYC. You can DM me if you want to know specifics
You can do that once. Once. After that, your CV indicates that it’s not the job....it’s you.
