Who never had Covid in the past 2 years? Wondering if it’s because of wearing mask, washing hands, vaccine or me just being lucky…

Combination of all those factors for sure. No one in my family has gotten it. And it’s not like we’re hiding in our houses, I’m in the office right now and my wife taught classes in person last fall.

like

i have not had covid or any sickness. I believe it's because with minimal exceptions, I have been working from home and only leaving to go grocery store shopping or other stores, or if I go out it's all in open air, always masked. Hand sanitizer every time I go in the car. I have surprisingly been happier because of peace of mind, working remotely etc. I am also vaccinated and boosted.

Never tested positive. I’ve been at bars, clubs and restaurants without a mask on for pretty much the last 12 months

like

like

Almost everyone has had it at this point. Many just don’t know because they were asymptomatic and didn’t test for it.

like

Know plenty of people who have not had it. Masking works.

Me. Respecting the virus as a real threat has so far kept me safe. Anyone remember The Rock with Nicholas Cage? “The moment you disrespect it, it kills you”

That said, I’m pretty sure I’m going to get a omicron simply because it is insanely virulent. We all likely will eventually. Make sure you’re boosted so that it only feels like a cold and not a hospitalization

likefunny

Never. Pre vaccine was because of very tight precautions. Post ive taken essentially no precautions so assume lucky, strong immune response or asymptomatic case i never noticed, who knows

like

Me and my family had it over the break, but to be honest if there were no tests and no one ever told us about covid, we probably would have never noticed and thought it was just a cold. And not everyone was vaccinate either. I guess my family got the good immune system genes.

Couldn’t you have had it and not known? Asymptomatic infections are common right?

like

Extremely common

Never got it.

I do at home test when I don’t feel good.

I just think I’m lucky but the walls are caving in.

like

I’m in 0 hurry to get it too.

Limit my time out. Wear my mask. Wash my hands.

I’m at the point where if an anti vaxxer dies, I can’t feel sorry for them. Yes. I expect hate from this.

Good luck to you too.

I test on average a bit more than once a month and have not tested positive or been symptomatic. Not a guarantee but I don’t believe I’ve had it after Mar 2020

There was a HORRENDOUS viral respiratory illness that burned through a lot of NYC in Jan 2020 — I was sick for weeks as were most of my colleagues, and I do wonder a bit if that was Covid (pre-test avails). This was also back when we all sat in an open office and people came to work sick constantly, so there was usually a wave or two of shitty winter illness regardless. Could have been that, too.

Unless I had an asymptomatic case (which I accept as a distinct possibility) I've never had it. For those wondering I've worn a mask when indoors probably 99% of the time. Only big social gathering without masks was a wedding where everyone was vaccinated (this also occurred pre-Delta). Always been a regular hand washer and pretty sanitary.

I so far appear to have dodged Omicron (again, barring an asymptomatic case) by virtue of keeping my holiday gatherings down to a small number. They were always going to be small but one family had positive tests (kids in school, inevitable as a result) so they had to sit it all out.

like

Same here, not that i’m aware of

like

Not that I’m aware of (knock on wood)

like

I've never had it but during the whole thing I've never worn a mask that isn't a kn95 or n95. I still go out and about wash my hands etc.

funny

I not only have avoided COVID but didn’t have a serious contact scare until Nov of last year, resulting in my very first & only COVID test

funny

Never had it and neither did my kids. Husband had it last year during Christmas (had symptoms) and we never quarantined separately. He got it again this past holiday and was asymptomatic this time. He tested himself only because a coworker tested positive with symptoms. We also were exposed to two additional family members testing positive (full blown illness..high fever, chills, muscle aches and not vax) during the holiday and nadda. Kids and I tested again and was negative. We are fully vaccinated and boosted along with kids being vaccinated. Masking, washing hands, and not putting myself and the kids in crowded situations. Kids are in school and good with masks and I'm fully remote. I'm presuming my kids and I are lucky or maybe something in our blood or genetics that is helping us to not get it. Prior to my vax status did an antigen testing and had nothing. Don't understand why we haven't gotten it due multiple exposures but could just be a long-time game of Russian roulette for us.

like

Haven’t had any symptoms this entire pandemic. Not vaccinated. I wear a KN 95 mask around others and take vitamins.

like

If I had it I didn’t know about it 🤷🏻‍♀️

like

I’m boosted and never had it. I went to Asia in February 2020 and when I came back, CDC suggested quarantining for 14 days so my employer allowed me to WFH. Those 14 days happened to be the most dangerous in NYC. On the 14th day, the whole city shut down. So, that was all luck. Since then, I’ve been working remotely and have been careful, only inside with other people beyond my partner for special occasions. Since omicron came around, I’ve been wearing KN95s when grocery shopping.

As someone who is not from the UK but lives here, seems like the focus of the COVID conversations boils down to ‘protecting the NHS.’ Shouldn’t the NHS be protecting us though? Sick of lockdowns and there doesn’t seem to be a significant difference in long-term outcome anyway. I feel that we need to be given a risk rating based on certain factors and those in lower risk categories should be allowed to go about their lives and run the economy as usual. Tier 5 sounds awful - I oppose it. Thoughts?

And the reason I mentioned lean PCOS is because it seems for others with PCOS part of the fertility path is diet/exercise/weight loss but I am already very tiny.

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general.
