Who pays for all the hospital and other costs when someone has to be treated for COVID? Are people going bankrupt?

If only there was a way to amortise these costs across a broader population so no one goes bankrupt just because they get sick.

I guess we’ll never know.🤷🏻‍♂️

SC1. This only really true for certain sectors that tend to be white collar work. Have a look at average service sector or manufacturing wages and most other advanced industrial economies out pace the US along side more equitable (and less expensive) access to healthcare.

Focusing only on certain comp pkgs misses two critical points:

- by any health outcome measure the US pays significantly more to end up being less healthy.

- healthcare tied to employment become increasingly precarious as more employment becomes shorter term (gig economy), “self-employed”/freelance or seasonal/part-time.

A single-payer system solves for both by lowering cost via leveraging buying power at scale and ensuring access is universal regardless of how you’re employed.

They just print up some more. Obvi.

Hmm call the hospital’s billing dept and ask whether covid should have been included as a primary or secondary reason for the visit. If they can change this and reprocess, you can then request a refund from the hospital.

I have twice caught errors for procedures at the hospital and had to ask them to correct it.

Well, those who have had Covid certainly will, because it will be counted as a pre-existing condition.

Did anyone who got Moderna vaccine get a flare up of seborrheic dermatitis?

I got my first flare up of this autoimmune condition 5 days after my first Moderna dose and it’s only gotten worse since (I have been doing treatment). I was doing some research online how covid patients in hospitals got the condition so I wasn’t sure if it would be related to the 2 doses of Moderna vaccine. Just thought I would ask if it happened to anyone else.

Maybe it was just a coincidence too

I feel completely alone and disconnected from any partners and substantive work. i’m a 2nd year and made my hours last year but all the time i would have spent making social connections and developing a close working relationship with a partner was affected by covid. It seems like most partners have their go to and I am not that for anyone. As a result i get stuck doing whatever paralegal type work i can find to make hours. Anyone got any advice? I just want to leave for meaningful work.

Any thoughts regarding picking an offer for first major job out of it uni.

Been wanting to leave Europe pre-Covid and have a boutique offer - digital strategy focus in the UAE

Recently received an MBB-offer in the city I am currently in. Transfer "maybe" after a year.

MBB will help more at home in the States, but boutique offers more relaxed hours, new city and international environment.

Am I and how much am I sacrificing for boutique? Which gives a long-term international environment?
