Btw how do you deal with manager excluding you in meetings yet includes a junior person in such meetings? I feel kinda awkward and left out. This has been happening for a couple of months. Citi Coincidently or not, this started happening when my manager’s manager praised my work during the absence of my manager.

Have a chuckle.

If only there was a way to amortise these costs across a broader population so no one goes bankrupt just because they get sick.
I guess we’ll never know.🤷🏻♂️
SC1. This only really true for certain sectors that tend to be white collar work. Have a look at average service sector or manufacturing wages and most other advanced industrial economies out pace the US along side more equitable (and less expensive) access to healthcare.
Focusing only on certain comp pkgs misses two critical points:
- by any health outcome measure the US pays significantly more to end up being less healthy.
- healthcare tied to employment become increasingly precarious as more employment becomes shorter term (gig economy), “self-employed”/freelance or seasonal/part-time.
A single-payer system solves for both by lowering cost via leveraging buying power at scale and ensuring access is universal regardless of how you’re employed.

Insurance and yes, people are being bankrupted by COVID. Here’s the details on the state of insurance coverage and limited mandates of free care in some states:

I paid exactly $0. Thank you PwC. So thankful they paid all the bills.
Hmm call the hospital’s billing dept and ask whether covid should have been included as a primary or secondary reason for the visit. If they can change this and reprocess, you can then request a refund from the hospital.
I have twice caught errors for procedures at the hospital and had to ask them to correct it.
Insurance but some insurances are starting to reduce or elimates benefits if your not vaccinated. Like I heard that testing cost are starting to be out of pocket for unvaccinated people
I’m sure we all will eventually via raised insurance premiums and taxes.

Well, those who have had Covid certainly will, because it will be counted as a pre-existing condition.
