Itâs actually the reverse of what agent told you. Card doesnât work with kiosks. At the kiosk , you need your passport and the visa page( or green card). Itâs really fingerprint â> scan docs â> take printout and then walk up to GE line with ID. Now, you will need your card if youâre trying to use NEXUS or SENTRI , flying out of Canada or Mexico.
I got my global entry approved via the interview 10 days ago. Entered the us today, coming back from London. At the iad airport, I simply walked over to the global entry kiosk, scanned my passport and fingerprints, got a pic taken and was done. I was asked no questions and was not asked to produce a card.
When I interviewed, the officer told me as a foreign national they wouldnât be sending me a card. But then he also told me I would not get pre check most likely, but I did.
back to US by air, GE members scan their passports or permanent resident cards at GE kiosks - a card is not required. â is this true ?
I have recently returned to US within 8 week window after my GE was approved. Once from Canada and had my immigration there and the other from Latin America. In Canada, the person didnât let me enter the GE line cos I didnât have the card. She wasnât aware of the Foreign national rule. The other time in Us airport, the person said the kiosk probably wonât work for me without the GE card and I didnât wanna lose one of the first spots in the regular line by wasting time at a Kiosk, so didnât try. Wondering if any other đ tried using Kisoks without the GE card and using just your passports ?
Card is only meant for road or cruises. You donât need the card for air travel. Itâs the same for all
@EY1, So how does the process work for airtravel ?
Actually you just need to your passport page...but make sure your visa is up to date on cbp profile
Thanks @EY1
Agree with EY1.. only nuance is that permanent residents donât need their passport.. they only need to scan the physical PR card.
I have a card but only use GC at Kiosks at US airports. Not citizen obviously
Thanks D1, P1 and D2.
@D2, I have been using TSA Pre-Check from the very next day of my GE approval. I got the PASS ID via email the same day and I just used it on all my reservations to leverage the pre-check benefit
This was really helpful! Thanks everyone!
