I had a low fever for two weeks. Sometimes it wouldn’t start til late afternoon. Headache, loss of taste for a couple days. Stomach issues. Then shortness of breathe but not bad enough to get hospitalized. It doesn’t have to be bad. Don’t stress. If you get it, then you don’t have to be as scared that you’re GOING to get it.

The part about it starting late afternoon some days. I was sick for 2.5 weeks but other than 2 days I didn’t feel like lay in the bed all day sick. I would do my work and then get a mild fever around late afternoon again. Had breathing issues from the start but didn’t have a cough until a week in where I couldn’t say a sentence without choking on air. Had to go to urgent care (well a parking structure where they come to your car) to get stuff to help my breathing. Lost sense of smell but not taste. It felt oddly manageable to me with just waves of it sucking. Just make sure to monitor your symptoms and listen to your body.

I think I have a fever and I’m stressing.

No thermometer

Where do you live and how much have you gone out the past week or two?

Nj and only went out once to supermarket in the last month. And walked outside a couple of times but live in the middle of nowhere burbs and noone was around.

Can take anywhere from 4-10 days to recover. Symptoms can vary a lot between people. I had high fever and general weaknesses, my wife just had loss of taste/smell and a few headaches. No hospitalization.

A friend contracted from a colleague it seems. He visited us over the weekend.

Ladies, I need advice. I’m mid-20s and feeling painfully lost. For most of my younger years, my identity was rooted heavily in my friendships and social life. Graduating college and then obviously the pandemic took a toll on that, I moved home and many of my friends left the city I had lived in pre-covid. Flash forward to the world reopening, I don’t like my job, my friends live all over, I have a nonexistent love life, and I don’t know what to do next

Ladies and gents- when/if you had option for timed intercourse (~15% chance of pregnancy) vs IUI (~30% chance), which one did you/would you do in the time of COVID? Option 2 requires partner and me returning to hospital tomorrow (I was here today). Option 1 obviously does not. Thanks for your advice in advance! This is following second round of clomid, FYI.

My SO got a great job offer in Bangkok and we need to decide soon. I’ve always been very independent and never followed a partner to another city or country. Will it be bad for my career to join him even while there is a little change I can find a job in Bangkok? Not sure what to do right now. Due to covid I recently got laid off and am already not in my home country but have lived here over 7 years. Any advice? Me following him or we both try to find another job in the country we are in now.

Don’t you think this covid19 is exposing some truths about corporate world? Before the industrial revolution most of the people pretty much worked and lived in the same place. The industrial revolution brought in mass manufacture, reporting and punching time in/out at a central office. Now that seems so dated and command and control in this new era of remote work and digital online presence, services and tools. Should we go back to the old ways unless needed?

Help! I am 6’1” tall with long legs and long feet .... and it seems like my “go to online store” for tall pants/slacks (32”-34” inseam) as well as shoes (size 14M) has shuttered (Long Tall Sally). I would love any suggestions for either tall clothes and/or shoes. Even a place to buy custom shoes at this point - I am desperate! My slightly too small size 13 Tory Burch sandals are just not going to cut it during the colder months, even given COVID 🤪 Thanks in advance!

Just want to thank the people in this bowl for giving me advice on several posts awhile back post-COVID layoffs. Had taken on 2 other (senior) people’s jobs/duties and then successfully managed and executed 3 major projects, I finally asked my new boss (team lead) about a title change and I’m glad I did! It was definitely something he had not thought about but could see the clear reasoning behind it and was willing to go to HR to ask if it was possible.

Lost retainer beginning of pandemic and haven’t been able to get replacement (Covid/Moving Out of State/ Other Priorities). Top teeth have shifted back to some extent, bottom teeth have built in retainer so haven’t moved. Back at parents home now and want to fix this mistake, what are realistic expectations? Full Invisalign program ~ 2-3k, Orthodontist to give me some break since we’ve already paid X thousand, some middle ground? Just want to try and be prepared on fair expectations.

My organization has told that I need to come back into the office full time after I have been WFH (without issue) since last March. We don’t do anything, go anywhere unless absolutely essential, etc. my job is such that first responders are in and out of the office and the work building all the time, and plenty of them have caught (and passed on) covid to other individuals. I feel totally blindsided by the interview I just had. I talked informally with Partner 1 before the interview and was told the position would be in one of the firm’s satellite offices. Then, during an interview with Partner 1 and Partner 2, Partner 2 mentioned that I’d have to move to the state where the firm is headquartered because he believes face-time is really important for training/mentoring. I have no plans to move and really hope this wasn’t all a huge waste of time.
