Employment litigation. 5 years out. Best decision I ever made. Made more in my first year on my own than at 5th year at large international defense firm, but I had a plan and a pipeline in place before taking the leap. Do it. Before family and mortgage if you can.

I’m halfway into raising my kids and starting to put a pipeline together. In another ten years I’m going to pull the trigger. With kids I’m too risk adverse even though I could otherwise swing it. House, student loans and cars paid for. Just like being able to give kids a better shot at success I guess.

Solo, IP, virtual law office, not much in earnings, mostly unpaid invoices. Not profitable due to lack of paying business but my annual overhead is under 5k at least. Would be nice if I could pay myself minimum wage at least. Maybe in a year or two.

Consulting Partner currently at $325k OTC base/bonus structure. Way under valued. In final rounds with Microsoft for a level 66/67 role, targeting base/bonus/ equity model. 20 years of experience, living in medium cost of living location. I'm looking to finally get comped according to the value I bring. Any advice on what a reasonable target comp splits I should strive for at Microsoft? Maybe negotiate level 68? Maybe 200k base / 40 annual bonus / 300k annual equity? Or $1M OTC? Thoughts?

I started a new role in BizOps over the summer at a late stage FinTech startup making $150K base ($15K signing bonus) and stock options. I previously worked at a T2 consulting firm and went to a non-HYP Ivy for undergrad. Have 4 YOE (will be 5 at matriculation) I’m debating whether I should pursue an MBA. Long term goal is entrepreneurship / FinTech for developing economies. I don’t think I’d want to go back into consulting and I don’t think PE/VC is very feasible either. Any thoughts?

Hi TCS Fish in the US. I have a few questions about TCS M&A group in the US. Someone reached out from TCS with an interesting opportunity. I am not sure if it is worth pursuing unless the comp is adequate. Anyone have an idea of the comp bands for the TCS equivalent for sr. manager/director and managing director? Recent comp bumps at KPMG where less than promised so looking at other options. How is work life balance? How is mgmt in the M&A group?

Had recieved offer from PwC SDC, with 40% hike over current CTC. 2 weeks after putting down my papers with my current company, my boss' boss called and is willing to "do anything" to retain me. Having completed almost all initial paper work with PwC, what should I do now ? My current company is great in everything except compensation, And I am interested in increased compensation and work experience. So the move to PwC makes sense, but all I see is complaints about the WLB. Need advice.
