Why would you move to the greatest city on earth to live in a horrible state on the wrong side of the river?

likefunny

Save 4% city tax, commute vs some parts of Brooklyn is faster into the city, more spacious apartments...

With that being said I’m considering moving back into the city :) fwiw, lived in ny for 6 years and been in JC for almost 2.

Yeah on one hand, hell of a diff to people when I say I live in “NYC” and it’s actually queens instead of having to clarify “well it’s actually JC”

But yes saving all that tax money and commute time is a big draw. Takes me 50 min one-way non-rush hour. But I live 7 min from LGA and 20-30 min from JFK on an Uber so maybe I wouldn’t move until I went into industry

Oh “actually” in the sense that I do indeed live in NYC, not in the sense that contrary to what I said I do not live in NYC. But also, queens can be its own world too lmao

I think someone hacked the Met Opera (just roll it with it lol), and the box office told me they didn't have access to the system to sell me a ticket, and the guy at the door said they do have availability, just no access to their ticket system... but they're still doing Aida tonight. Question: because they don't have access to their ticket system, couldn't I show up and "say" I have tickets (which I don't), but I don't know where my seats are, and then they'd have to let me in?

Folks, im in the market for a 2-bed rental in the city. Torn between a 1600-sqft loft in Tribeca ($6700)and a 1200-sqft ($7000) amenities filled condo in East Chelsea. I’m tilting towards the TriBeCa loft (because I like the idea), how good is this neighborhood? My wife and I are looking for a fun neighborhood, good square footage and decent price (<$7k). Thoughts?
