Who would’ve thought being a realtor was so hard? Not to diminish anyone’s work, but I always assumed it was easier.

Many of those who get into real estate think that way, the reality is that I believe that all jobs are difficult but if you put love into what you do it will be much easier.

I understand you, I thought it was easier and when I started I realized the reality. But even with how difficult it is, I don't regret having chosen to work in real estate.

Many jobs look easy on the outside until it's your turn to take on one of those jobs you underestimated, welcome aboard.

Many people believe that jobs in sales are easy, well they are not, what happens is that some make it look easy because they have natural abilities to sell, others do not have them and we basically have to study to learn how to do this.

Being a real estate agent is one of the most difficult things I have learned to do, I am 8 years old and I am still learning, selling a property is not easy, even through a window you can lose a business, so it is a bit of patience, constant learning and dedication.

It is true that by working as a real estate agent you can improve your economy, but it is also true that it is not easy, no job for sale is easy but this one has its extra difficulty (not many people go out to buy a house every day), So your clientele is small, the competition is great and the clients are not easy.

Before being a real estate agent, I worked in the supply chain, I learned a lot from there and from sellers and buyers, but when I came here I realized that basically nothing was going to help me, I was born again in sales and I have learned a lot in 3 years, but I feel that I have about 20 years left to properly manage this business, which is truly very difficult.

It is very difficult and people believe that houses sell themselves, it is a monstrous job that you have to do and it is a pretty lonely job too.

In real estate the reality is you get what you put in.

Looking to make a career pivot and don’t know if I should outright quit and take a breather from work (I have enough savings) to visit family abroad or take FMLA, knowing I would quit immediately after. Do you think I’d burn bridges by taking FMLA, then quitting 2 weeks later? The only reason I’d do that option is for financial reasons and to have income while I am visiting family.

Anyone else feel like it’s impossible to explain our jobs to friends? I’ve been struggling with this for years and now my best friend is getting married, asking me to tentatively reserve numerous weekends for a shower and bachelorette that may or may not happen (I’m the MOH). Of course I’ll do my best to prioritize her plans but it makes me feel like a bad friend and mentally exhausted to always try to explain big law. Potentially dumb question but should I include a “tech & relevant skills” section on my resume like I would for job searching? FWIW I don’t have any special tech skills, no SQL etc. It would truly be listing Microsoft office, excel, tableau, and Salesforce which I feel like is so irrelevant and I don’t want to waste real estate if I don’t have to

As realtors, our worst and best friend are the contractors, being friends with the contractor that remodelled a home you are going to sell is a plus because you can know for sure what kind of improvements were made to the house and why; and what kind of things are pending to be improved, that way you can provide real information to the client. You know what they say: a happy client always comes back to you.
