Book recommendations? I come from non-Union/low budget line producing but I’m now working for a “real agency”. I’m looking to learn more about SAG processes, working with vendors, bidding process, etc. I know most of this knowledges will come from actually working on projects but I’m curious if there are any good resources out there.
Any good book recommendations? Would prefer if applicable to the business or self development. But doesn’t have to be.
Best investment book recommendations?
I’m interested real estate investing (buying my first house this year) and would like to learn more. Does anyone have book recommendations? I can’t decide between flipping or rental income properties but also need to just learn about the whole home buying process.
Fiction book recommendations? I'm in charge of our book club selection this month and don't know what to pick! Contemporary, historical fiction, chick-lit would be the ideal genres - something that's easy reading for a group of upper 20's women 🙂
Want to improve my verbal and written communication skills. I hear reading more would help but I don’t read as much as I used to. So I’m wondering what books would help with that? Should I just read books that tickle my fancy like suspense and true crime novels? Help! Welcome to all book recommendations.
Anyone have any book recommendations related to business/finance? Reading Billion Dollar Whale now and can’t put it down!
Physical book recommendations? Looking for topics on Python, ML, DS, etc. Any interesting must reads in the field? Looking heavy to up-skill and get more technical! The journey begins now.
Would you say summaries are as effective for self help books like "the subtle art of giving a fk" and other similar books? I feel the books themselves ramble on too much on a side story only to tell a point that could be summed up in a couple sentences. Or am I just not getting good book recommendations for growth/development on mental well being and productivity
Any book recos for creatives/writers?
Does anyone have recommendations on books or courses that do a really good job explaining step-by-step on how to start and run a mid-size business (local marketing agency, self storage real estate business, call center for third parties, etc.)

All I want to do is curl up in bed with hot tea and a good book. Recommendations for if I ever achieve said dream?
Senior associate producer with 2.5 years experience making 65k. Looking like a promotion may be on the horizon. What should I expect in terms of salary increase?
About to start a new job but have a pre-planned 2.5 week vacation for end on September. Feeling a bit uneasy about taking such a long break so early into a new position.... will they think I’m lazy and immediately get a red flag? I know it’s long but I haven’t taken vaca all year!
An interviewing company hasn’t offered me the job yet but is asking me for my visa documents so their counsel can take a look. I assume they want to see how much time is left before extending offer. Has anyone been in this situation yet? I’m a bit wary of sending over personal legal documents when things are still up in the air
12 weeks today. I was hoping I would be able to get DNA genetic testing today but my insurance still hasn’t approved the testing. I have up until Friday to see if it’s approved if not I can get another test but it’s a 90% detection rate ($300). The other test is 97% and out of pocket it’s about $3K. How would you guys proceed?... Just take the $300 test if the other isn’t approved in time?
I can't wait for my seniors to ask me why I don't get the Skype mobile app. Same reason why I haven't given you my cell number. #nothanks #emailme #soiseeitmonday
PwC 🐠 - if you were hired in as an Experience Hire in mid-March, will your salary get adjusted after CRTs, if the current level brought in at changes?
One thing I truly will never understand is how Zoom became so successful despite the success of so many other meeting platforms.
Deloitte folks, please share your experience on the green card process. Did it go smoothly?
Deloitte S&A or LeK for analyst role?
I was looking into the # of covid cases and it looks like the number of cases due to the delta variant is at the same level as March of 2020. Do you think it is a sign of upcoming market downturn? Being cash heavy would be a good idea?
I am 24 years old and the advice I have been given is to max out my IRA and 401k before investing into a taxable brokerage account. If I do not plan on working until I am 59 1/2, is this sound advice since there is a 10% penalty of early withdrawals for both accounts?
Has anyone negotiated a pay raise after completing a PT MBA? Doing the same thing since pre-MBA and see no change in near future. Leaders in Advisory say they are looking for more MBAs though.
Risk consulting 🐠, what do you think about the FRM certification? For those that have it, has it helped you on project work and do clients look at it favorably?
Anyone lateralled, either internally or externally, from a M&A group to a coverage role? Thoughts?
Just paid off my credit card debt that totaled a whopping 5-digits worth! ($XX,XXX) Took 7 months of sacrifice and making better life choices. I never wanna be in debt ever again!
New hire question - if I didn't submit expenses before that expense cut off date is there any bad consequence?
Doesn’t feel great when the job you are interviewing for (that wasn’t advertised at all) is posted on Linkedin a few days after you interviewed 😞 Gotta keep looking...
