Meetups or Facebook groups are a place to start meeting people. Volunteer work, community groups (I was a volunteer worker at an art fair this summer for example). University alumni groups, church, book groups, Toastmasters. It can be a bit of hard work and effort to meet people. It’s not you, it’s hard.

How do people stay healthy when work picks up? I’m very good with eating healthy, working out, and sleeping plenty when work is constant but on very busy days I find myself not making time for the gym, and reaching for carb bombs. How can I convince myself to still reach for those veggies and go for a quick run when I’m getting slammed?

Has anyone been diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma/hemorrhage in their first trimester ? How did it go for you- did it go away, stay without impact, or lead to a miscarriage ? It’s basically a form of internal bleeding- I’m super high risk already (44 yo, IVF)- but it increases the likelihood of miscarriage even more. Thanks!

What’s your recommendation if my new 401k does not accept pension rollover? I think the only 2 roll over options left are traditional/Roth IRA, right? I’m depressed. Nothing unique about my depression - I’m in big law, my career defines me, when I’m not working I can’t find the will to get off the couch, I’m sad or I’m numb…I know I’m the only one that can make a change to my life…I’m on antidepressants. Just extremely unmotivated and paralyzed. Self-help books are not for me, but I am curious - has anyone tried a guided depression/anxiety journal? Any recommendations if so? Have had ups and downs before, but now I'm really in the pits. I've been unable to leave bed for days.

I got through the last 4 months by telling myself that I'd take my bonus and get out. I was losing it in COVID. I was working straight from getting up to falling asleep. I caved better WLB.

Now, I have gotten my bonus and an offer from a boutique. The offer is more money and seems to be decent.

I'm well-established at a Tier-2 now, and am stressed that this is a big risk or the wrong move.

I am working out and eating healthier, but still struggle with depression and anxiety.
I’m tired of the frequent thoughts of nothingness, the lack of any desire to do things, as well as the constant and immeasurable need for me to force myself to do things.
I just want to be happy.
I don’t want to ruminate on mistakes.
I want to be free.

My SO is dealing with a terrible boss who has a history of firing people before their probation period. They have had some really terrible meetings recently and my SO thinks that their boss may be aiming to fire them since my SO is approaching their probation period deadline. Would you quit your job if you were in this situation or is it best to let the company terminate you?
