I just graduated with a Health Science Degree and couldn’t find a job that would be enough to pay my bills (I have rent, car payments and credit card loans)! I was wondering what other options will there be as a career for the mean time I’m off school before doing grad school?

Is a daily 1.5 hour commute (total) worth a more supportive work environment and better benefits?
Thinking of jumping ship after just 6 months in a fully remote position for an in-house, in person job where expectation is 5d/week in person. Commute would be around 90minutes/day in interstate. Better salary, good 401k match, parental leave (20 weeks paid), 4wks PTO, and a very big name for the resume. 3 YOE. But I love the flexibility of remote work, so struggling to decide.

Hey all, question about a toxic organization. I’ve rided it out in sales as an AE at an org for 2 years and now I truly feel my mental health suffers. We have “forecast sales meetings” where the Director grills us on deals in front of the entire team. There is inconsistent behavior and 0 accountability from leadership when we don’t hit our sales targets.

Is this a normal thing in sales?

Hypothetical scenario but I want to see your opinion. Pretend I have two offers one offer is from a large company like Cushman & Wakefield and another is from a smaller company (~500-1000 employees). Let’s say the pay and benefits are slightly better at the smaller company and is closer to me than Cushman, but I still haven’t decided yet.
Since Cushman is more known and larger company, should I take their offer or the smaller company’s? Like does it look better on resumes?

Feeling de-motivated as a consultant in healthcare. Doesn’t feel like a lot of the work I do actually helps patients or make anyone’s life better, which was the whole draw when I started 5+ years ago. I also sometimes feel stifled bc healthcare doesn’t have the $ and growth opps that I see my peers that work in other industries. Anyone ever feel this way?

Just joined a smaller company and my 401k deposits are taking ages to be processed. For example, my withholding from my 11/30 paycheck still has not been processed. Are there guidelines on this?

My boss assigned me to a project for which I have no training or expertise. I was billed out at full rate but could produce nothing. My boss was okay with that as long as he made his numbers. I on the other hand saw a real ethical problem with the situation. When I spoke to my boss about this, I was fired.

How did you all deal with failure in your career. I was ambitious and smart. I was in IBM and considered to be one of the best of my class. I was fired and haven’t really found my way.

I don’t know what to do anymore. 3 years after the fact, I am still at an entry level position. I hate myself for letting things get this bad but I don’t know how to get out of this perpetual cycle. I tried working my ass off but have not been able to shake off that unfortunate past.

How do I have the conversation with a Partner about writing a letter of rec for a PhD program? Will I put myself a risk of being laid off if I express interest in continuing my education?
