2015 grad in a mid sized law firm. Considered a rising star. Rumors that equity partners will be breaking a class rule precedent to elevate me next year. Lately just not feeling happy. Overworked. Don’t get to see my kid ever. A client has reached out for the third time trying to hire me. Boss is extremely difficult. Googled a bunch on pros and cons of going in house. I am also not making big law salary so financials are less impacted than for the “usual” candidate. Advice?
What are the industry standards/averages for Total Comp/Managed Revenue for “client partners” or “account partners”?

Anyone working for Fidelity client for EY India? My wife got offers from Accenture, IBM and EY India(Fidelity) for SQL/Informatica developer for Gurgaon location. Which one is good considering WLB and career growth? Any help is greatly appreciated. Exp: 5 Years
The supervising partner just *doesnt* follow up on my questions when trying to respond to client inquiries. Even when clients start getting frustrated… is there a point where I should just light a prayer candle and just send my answer to the client?
I’ve been asking for the client to send data since last Wednesday (including 3 times today) for analysis THEY need tomorrow morning!! They seem to be offline for the day, what do I? Just give up at this point? It’s caused me more stress and anxiety than it should have this past weekend and today.
As a consultant I have done little bit of everything project management, scrum master , etc. How does ur resume look, do you guys/gals have different resumes for different roles.
Any 🐠 have recommendations on solid (but not time consuming) ice breakers for client workshops my team has coming up? This will be one of the first interactions between our team + the client, and there should only be 10-15 people on the call. Thanks!
What's the norm for consulting firms during a shutdown? Do people on non funded projects usually get furloughed or kept on? Asking because I've been at a bigger firm that kept everyone on during the last shutdown, but I'm at a much smaller company now that is going to furlough on a project by project basis (if your project is shutdown, you get furloughed). Just curious if this is commonplace among smaller firms/what the norm is for bigger ones as well? What's been your experience?
Drafted doc per client request on Wed. Sent to manager for "required" review on Wed. Was due to client's boss Friday afternoon. Client just asked why she doesn't have it yet w/manager in ear shot. 😒
What would you say is the cap earning potential in Account Management/Client Services in NYC. 400K? Does it go any higher in pharma? Is there more earning potential in going client side after reaching AD?
I’ve been trying to get some graphic design side projects to potentially pivot to self-employed designer. I think I have a competitive portfolio, but I’m having a hard time finding gigs. I tried Fiverr, but it is hard to compete with the prices they charge there. I know many people in the field, as I hang out mostly with designers and creatives, but not many people that could be a client. Any advice?
How is Deloitte USI SNET team for SAP BASIS Consultant? how is learning and WLB? do they have good implementation project?
How to push back on a client's daily 8 am "check-in" meeting? The 8 am meetings are killing my team's morale.
I currently have a “retainer” agreement set up with a client for a certain number of deliverables over the course of a month and a half. They told me it would not be big lift, so we agreed on “half day” rates. Obviously, once the work got started it became more than a half day. Now they are trying to add more deliverables and think it should be included in our scope. I think I should charge them for the extra deliverables. What do you think?
Anyone at Deloitte looking to staff for Change Mgt/Training resources for their project?
That moment when you had all your projects out the door, ready to pack for your vacation and chill, but your client comes back with "urgent" changes. #fml #almostthere
I've 6.5 yrs of experience in automation testing & agile methodology. Currently in CL9. I joined ACN with mindset that I'll move into management role after couple of years, but they put me into a project which is 100% opposite to my previous experience, both domain and techn wise. I'm planning to take up Agile Project Management role immediately (Scrum Master or PO) & my supervisor said he will help me making the shift. Is it worth for me to make this shift right now? Recently completed MBA.
A partner tried to choose a strategy for the case with no associate to support him and no research, and then dragged me into the case. The strategy he promised to the client is not feasible according to applicable precedent…
ACN fish (or any experience consulting fish): what's the process of getting rolled off a client engagement 3 months early. Am on a staff aug and it's terrible. I've flagged to leadership in the past that the role doesn't align with my skills but nothing changed. I would rather quit than stay here if they don't get me off but it's so unclear if that's even an option. Any advice? For context: I'm an experienced hire and been here a little longer than 9 months so don't know the rules yet
Good morning Does anyone know if one (dependent) can do stock trading while on H4 visa without EAD?
One perk of WFH is I can cry without having to hide in a bathroom. Maybe I’m PMSing but just feeling really unwanted rn. Don’t have friends or work colleagues that seem to care about/like me. Like is there something genetically about a person that can make them unlikeable? I just don’t understand what’s wrong with me as a person. I have an SO and family that love me very much but I need the external validation and I’ve never had that. Just gonna be in my feelings the rest of today.
This is a sincere question. What is a good raise percentage wise? I received about a 10% raise and am trying to gauge how good it is given the market and area I am in. For context: just entering my second year, non-bay/LA area in California, public entity work, ~100k first year salary, ~1800 billable requirement. Thanks!
When you don't have an Uber receipt to show when you left the corporate holiday party because you walked home...and you have no idea what time you got home.
Anybody having difficulty getting medical experts to respond lately? Even in non-covid practice areas?
Management knows that our work is on par with and /or exceed that of regular consultants. They are using us as a cost reduction center while most regular consultants partake in limited to no travel. Low achievers will be ok with this , high achievers will leave . And usdc will continue to be a churn and burn shop. The best advice I can prescribe is to do the bareminimum because they aren’t rewarded us for exceeding expectations they are just pushing the carrot forward with 40% < $ then regulars
Second year Consultant who came from a benefits broker. I feel like I am very much still learning the ropes of consulting. Was asked to help on a deck for proposal work for something I have no background/knowledge in. Told by the partner that I wouldn’t be creating content just story boarding and managing and organizing in the deck. The manager, familiar with the proposed solution, however seems to be annoyed with me that I didn’t create content. Not sure what to make of this?
So with WFH in many companies, can we move to Puerto Rico and finally be able to afford a home or are we looking at steep salary cuts and back to not being able to afford a home.
Has anyone ever reached out to the hiring manager/talent recruiter of a company listed on LinkedIn after applying for an open position? I’ve heard this can be effective but I’m at a loss for what say. “Please hire me?” Lolol
Due to social distancing rules, when the kids come into school in the morning, they have to immediately report to their classrooms. I get it, but I also don't have time to entertain them as I'm prepping for class. What can I do to keep them busy?
If I accepted an offer from one employer and initiated the h1b transfer but received a better offer from another company before the h1b was approved, can I say no to the employer who filed h1b and start h1b transfer with the new employer? Asking only from immigration constraints perspective, understand the risk of saying no and burning bridges etc.
The hiring manager called to congratulate and said should be getting the offer in the email without disclosing any details. How to negotiate in this case?
