Hi Fishes,
How's the hike % ?
McKinsey & Company McKinsey & Company been working here one year and received pretty positive feedback. Given the expectation for people of my tenure to transition to EM in a year or so, I can’t see myself staying due to the WLB as an EM. I’m 35 and have 2 young kids. Can it even be realistically done? Would love to stay but I don’t see a balance which would keep my family happy. What options do I have from there?

Because no one wants to live in FiDi.
63 wall, 67 wall, 20 exchange, 45 wall, 90 Washington, 116 John, and 200 water. All of those have leasing offices on site
It's quiet. Not a ton going on.
Not much of a neighborhood in FiDi. It's a ghost town after work.
Its traditionally a business district that is being converted to more residential. Lots of new housing supply keeping prices down. It's also not really considered a "hopping" neighborhood.. gets pretty dead at night. Some people like that. Some don't. Needless to say the more traditional popular neighborhoods can command higher rents.
Agreed. It's "cool" in that you're living in the "canyons", but the resident services infrastructure is behind (compared to the rest of Manhattan -- compared to most downtown city cores it's actually quite good, which is a criticism of most downtown cores in America)
You could go FiDi or the UWS by London center. More happening there same new construction and similar rents, more amenities (have seen apartments with rock walls, indoor dog paths, bowling alleys, etc).
Moving to NYC soon and wondering if there is a catch
Takes as long to get to Williamsburg and longer than getting to Long Island city.
Lots of flexes (fake wall bedrooms), nothing happening down here, fewer places to eat. I love it though, the buildings are newer, most have gyms in the building, it's safe here. Fyi, almost all buildings here have management buildings on site, so don't go through a broker and pay a fee. Call leasing offices in the buildings directly
^P3, do you have recommendations for specific buildings?
So helpful! Thank you!!
