Consulting helped me get out of the shackles of program management which every Tom dick and Harry seems to be in now. It also enabled me to move geographically. Plus it seemed glorious and to those outside it still draws awe when they hear you work at xyz (and automatically assume you’re driven and smart). While I love the work st times, the consulting model is broken. I have exited the big firms now, and am trying to craft a modified role with a local shop
