Why can’t Gosystem generate XMLs that are exact copy of the printed return? Can Gosystem hire a programmer that can do this?

Don’t think it’s Thomson Reuters. Some stuff like zero k-1 ownership should show and are blank, but they have to match the IRS 1960s technology.

Perhaps if GoRs had some strong competition they would have. It is (and always been) a half assed software at best.

^^ This, but I get it. If I were a software engineer choosing between a trendy tech company and developing tax software, the tax software would have to pay $$$$$ to even get me to consider it.

That’s not GS choice?

It is shocking that xmls actually have to be reviewed…

Some platforms like CCH Axcess don’t give you XML for review!

smart

People still use gosystems?

For those that see a therapist; what was your process of finding a good one? I struggle with finding a therapist that understands ambition and especially has cultural sensibilities. I am seeking to understand why certain things are a trigger for me, and so far all I’ve been getting is “ah, that’s rough”, or “Just take deep breaths”. Feel like I’m just waisting an hour every week. I wonder if I should look into psychoanalysis vs therapy, idk. Any thoughts appreciated!

Our firm is establishing our target billable %'s at a small public accounting firm. Is there a website that gives target billable time % by staff level for the tax and accounting industry? Just started poking around the AICPA website, but would appreciate being able to save some time looking for it. I'm used to a lower % rate than what's being proposed (70% vs 85%) and don't want to cause undue pressure on staff, but do want to give a reasonable billable hours expectation going forward.
