Why don't the insurance companies just say we won't pay for your care if you get covid and could have been vaccinated?
Lot of negatives from Covid. Am curious to poll this crowd on what we think the long term positives will be, both for consultants and society at large. Let’s generate some positive vibes.
Guitar lessons in NoVa/DC, where are they? I'm the type of guy who hires a bodybuilding coach because he wants to get in shape, I don't screw around. I want a guitar coach/teacher but at least when I was looking a couple of months ago I couldn't find one with trusted reviews on places like Craiglist or simple Google searches. Recommendations? Places to look? Is the supply just rock bottom due to COVID?
Trump supporters - if Trump keeps not listening to experts and ignoring the science around coronavirus, at what point does it become his virus?
Any thoughts/insights on how the travel aspect would play out in PwC's Salesforce practice in the post COVID world? Will they want us to be on the road 4 days a week or it will be much more hybrid? If it's the latter, how much % of travel should someone working at PwC's Salesforce practice expect?
Baby sitting friend’s 5 year old and today she has 99 fever. She is going to see a friend on Saturday and told me she will get a COVID test before that. In her words, ‘I am going to get tested because if I have COVID I can pass it to my friend and the friend will meet so many people and she can pass into them and then all those people will meet other people and spread to them and then COVID will spread everywhere.’ I don’t know where little lady learnt it from but this was impressive.
I made a reservation for my family at JW Marriott in India and they found someone dirty clothes and underwear near lamp in the room, the Marriott people came and cleaned the room and offered free dinner I feel really terrified where on their website they say we clean do well and this happened with COVID going on. Should they compensate me with points?
Advice needed: I’ve been in a long distance relationship for a while. Things are generally going well but when it comes to traveling to see each other I’m always the one making more of the effort to go to him. I understand his job isn’t as flexible but even when it was during Covid he had an excuse and I would be the one going to see him and spending weeks leaving behind my day to day to spend time with him. Am I wrong for wanting more effort and flexibility on his end?
Where is the future home for principled, democratic conservatives? Do we think a new conservative party can build around the likes of Cheney, Romney and Kinzinger? How can they gain critical mass? From rewriting state election laws, to fomenting insurrection, to going to war with public health officials over COVID vaccines, the GQP are irredeemable at this point.
I’ll just leave this here
When your COVID-19 bonus comes through
I Have more sparetime now (Thanks Covid!) and I wanted to invest it in data skills related courses. I found one on data camp called "Data Skills for Business" and then was planning to continue with their "data analyst with Python" career track. What do you think of those two courses? Sinon, do you have any suggestions for better alternatives? Thanks! 🙏🏻
I was just offered a promotion to Sr Strategy Analyst and I’d like to negotiate the base comp from $109 to $116 at least. I would love to hear how others have navigated this conversation. My points are: 1. I have both supply- and demand- side experience. 2. I have a proven record of dedication to the company w/ examples. (This is a leadership rotational program so it shows I’m invested in the company.) 3. I didn’t rec a raise in 2020 bc Covid so at a normal rate I would be making ...
Remember when Fauci said we didn't need masks then said we did but only N95 masks, but then said any face covering will work. Then said if you're vaccinated you need to double mask. Then said you can single mask. Then said no masks if you're vaccinated. Now the CDC says you need a 3rd vaccine shot to "greatly" prevent delta variant. But no, EVEN if you're vaccinated you can get Covid. Like f off. This is not exact science clearly. I have taken 2 shots but now I refuse to listen to this BS.
Is Trump the worst president in US history?
Mentally done with COVID. I’m fully vaxxed and will happily wear masks anywhere (hey saves lipsticks and sunscreen), but if we have to shut down again I’m going mad
Heelllppp! My husband accidentally left his grocery COVID disinfectant spray in the same spot where I keep my water spray bottle (they are unfortunately the same color) I sprayed a sweet red pepper plant with the mix generously and poured some in because the plant seemed dry. It’s 70% ethanol. What should I do?? Repot immediately with fresh soil?
Struggling with the whole situation right now (Covid and a lot happening in my personal life) and generally I’m a bit more “emotional” / have a lot of empathy. Can’t help but think no one would think twice to question my personality and working style (I’m always very effective at delivering) if I were a man......
Hi Everyone! I’m wondering if any consulting firms are actively hiring right now? I’ve decided I want to leave my current company in search of more opportunity. Particularly because it seems as though my promised promotion will be indefinitely cancelled due to COVID (@hiring freeze). Would appreciate advice / tips and if graciously offered, referrals!
GTA V or Red Dead 2
Made it to final rounds for MBB in early 2018 when I was a Consultant at ACN. Feedback was needed to be a little crisper on the case. How long to wait before reapplying?
If I'm considering an MBA, do I need to go to an ivy league to make it worth it? I keep seeing that it's valuable for personal reasons, but then the part that is valuable for work seems to be dependent on the school name. If that's true, I'm not sure that there's any personal reason that would make that much energy/time/investment worth it.
Favorite resources (books, YT videos, podcasts, etc.) for beginners looking to get into personal finance? Looking for something easier to consume so I don’t get disinterested
I judge people with poorly trained dogs. I mean dogs that bark all the time, jump all over people, try to steal food, etc. I’ve never understood why anyone would get a dog if they’re not willing to train it.
As a new hire, what’s the better approach? Go around looking (begging) for billable hours or sit tight at my desk for 8 hours a day and study for the CPA exam?
Whats the deal on rebounds? Managers who left right before being made senior manager? What do those guys call themselves and more importantly what role should them aim for?

I was 12 minutes late to an interview for the most ideal role I’ve come across in a long time. I feel like an idiot - probably lost my shot there and then. Interview went well, but being late probably screwed me over
My utilization is 90% but all of my clients are small jobs. Does that look worse than someone who works on the larger, higher revenue generating jobs with all else equal (utilization/performance)?
Reminder to my freelance friends: Your job is to be the easiest person in the world to work with. Easy easy easy. (That makes it easy for them to keep giving you money, too!)

Anyone have a good resource (or tips) for finding in-house digital marketing jobs? I think I need a break from agency life, but it's really hard to cut through the agency job listings to find the in-house gigs on LinkedIn and other boards. Might be the only way, but figured I'd ask in case y'all know something I don't!
