Sprint race tomorrow to determine grid positions. One of 3 races this year to test a new format to race weekend.

Pretty dumb imo

Very true 😂 luckily I had no meetings for that hour so I was able to tune in

Yeah read about sprint qualifying. So now you have a higher chance of not making the race on Sunday if you crash during the sprint race. Brilliant.

The Sprint was brilliant. I hope this format becomes the norm. Qualifying has nothing to do with racing.

I have been consulting for a tech company as a data engineer, and I am looking to make the switch to more of a data scientist or data analytics role. Any advice? I will soon have my masters in DS

Guilty! Being the interviewee recently has taught me what I failed to do as an interviewer. 1Outline your hiring process/timeline. Simple but oft overlooked. Tell them how many people they’ll be meeting, when u aim to shortlist, when u aim to hire. Communicate- someone is probably intensely waiting for any word. They may miss other opportunities for u. 2 Closure! Surprising how many places don’t let u know when they’ve moved on from u! 3 Can u offer helpful advice for them? 4 Reply to all.

Good or bad idea to reach out on LinkedIn for a phone chat with hiring manager before applying

22 years old with about $20k in cash (15k combined in Roth and 401k). Where should I keep my cash if I want to save for a downpayment for a house? Should I just put it in a low cost index fund?

There’s a company that I really want to work for in the future, is it possible to convince them I apply for my green card now and then join them once the EAD card comes in post-GC approval?

Is it too late to get a referral for full time after ugrad? I’m very interested but have only been networking with a few T2 and T3 firms. Given Covid, I felt that MBB and T2 would be a reach, especially with not much consulting experience. Now it looks like most firms are still hiring as usual. Thanks!

When y’all refer to MBA rankings, which ranking are you referencing? US News, Forbes, etc.?

Trying to figure out how to manage health issues and work balance. I just recently found out I might have herpes (waiting for the test results to come back) and I have been very and feeling like my life is over especially because it came from being cheated on and struggling with prioritizing my bandwidth and not knowing how to communicate it with my team. Due to stigmas around something as common as herpes I cannot comfortably share that with my team.

Do Risk Assurance, Core Assurance, and tax all start out at the same salary at the firm? Campus hires specifically

So I started at a new role at a known retailer about 2 months ago. I am their first hire in this role, as I have more than 5 years of relevant experience leading initiatives and optimizing process across departments. While I understand it takes time to adjust to the culture, its seems like all I have witnessed is resistance to change. I already feel myself not wanting to be here long, but I'm putting pressure on myself to not be a quitter. Would you stick it out or start looking?

Hi fishes. Wanting to teach myself some coding languages and would like advice on the benefits of starting with R vs Python? For context, I just find that I enjoy the quantitative work the most, and am pretty proficient today in SQL, Alteryx, tools at that level, so trying to expand a bit. Would love insights on what lends itself better to working in more data oriented roles in tech. Thanks!

Hey mommas - My baby is 14 weeks old and I haven't gotten my period back yet. I'm worried I'm pregnant again. When did you get your period back? For context, I'm breastfeeding but not exclusively (I am pumping and nursing as much as I can though). I've been on the pill since 6 weeks and my husband used condoms for the first few weeks once we started again. Surprisingly, I can't find anything online that's helpful. Any sense of a timeframe would be tremendously anxiety-reducing!

McKinsey dads: what’s parental leave time at your firm? Is there a minimum tenure requirement to take the leave?

Need advice. Currently at a top boutique. Fun firm, weak pipeline and 12 - 18 months from promotion. Received offer at a smaller firm focused on interim management for hospitals for 33% more TC. Less brand name, would get more experience managing people at a hospital. Do I jump?

What are the weirdest expense charges you have seen?

Looking to Recruit Sr. Program Manager in the IT team. $3B global medical device company. Someone who is at SC/M level would make a great fit. DM me if interested
