Why didn't you go into banking? I'm sure most people here had the opportunity to do both. In my case, culture was just not a fit whatsoever.

Agree with S. I was a poorer version of banking analyst for two years and it's all pitch book creation. Also people in banking work long hours for no reason. The whole industry is inefficient, works unnecessarily on Weekends. Only ER physicians need to work on the weekends.

The thing about banking is the hours are brutal, but the work itself is not that hard

Banking work sucks. You spend majority of your time just managing the sell process and create marketing materials to sell your client's company. Banking = car salesman

Human capital

History major.

Don't agree with the premise of using money to make more money without there being any product or service exchanged for that "more money" + culture sucks

I work at Big4 and need to deliver some training material for a client. This requires me having access to their internal salesforce and confluence pages that the client accesses through SSO. The client has agreed to federate with me so I can use my Big4 email address to log into their internal pages. Is this feasible? Not from a security/compliance perspective but rather a tech/IdP perspective.

Any tips for how to stand out when submitting resumes online to an F50? I have started sending my resume to in-house jobs and it’s hard to even get a response from most listings. I have tried being targeted (e.g., applying to in-house M&A roles and not just any in-house role) and adjusting my resume for particular listings (e.g., highlighting experiences of interest to the company). For a number of places, I have indicated that I am looking for a remote position, which is maybe a negative.

What do you do when you work with a really smart partner who is also a seriously big jerk?

Hello London 🐠, could you please share programs / schools that MBB recruit decently apart from LBS? I’m mainly interested in doing MSc. or MBA in Strategy / Finance. Thanks for your help!

A question to all the native English speakers on here: how is the word “awry” correctly pronounced? As in something that’s gone awry. I’ve read it, I know what it means but I have never heard it out loud.

Tryna stay sane, New York! 🤟

Does your practice rely on outsourced teams?

This isn't a startup question but probably the most relevant bowl. I'm currently a Director in Tech Consulting and earn around £230 TC. I have a chance of making Equity Partner in London in around 3 years time. I've had a european tech firm in my sector approach me for a C-Suite job (essentially to run their UK business). The founder is looking for a PE Exit and is expecting a £400-£450m valuation within 12 months. I'm really excited and have been feeling disillusioned by EY for a while

anyone opt for state health insurance over cobra? is it terrible? medium coverage state seems close in price to cobra.

What do you recommend as a first “do it all” watch? I’m currently looking at the Rolex DateJust 41, Omega Aquaterra and possibly a Grand Seiko. Would love any thoughts on the above or other possibilities I’ve missed.
