What S1 said. Also being cheap can be a product of how you were raised. If my salary doubled today my lifestyle wouldn't change much. I'd just be pumped about extra savings and maybe earlier retirement
Because I'm not getting a cut of the client fees. If I were, I'd care much more about client $
Asking for the dude making a $10 on selling southwest voucher
(Also I'm making ~$90, not $10 from the voucher)
I don't mind splitting bill evenly as long as it's relatively fair. However, it's annoying when everyone orders the $15-$20 dish and one or two people gets the $25 dish and a beer and then expects everyone to split evenly
Yes, I consider that fair. However I'd rather eat $5 chicken and rice from the street cart over a meal at a 4 star restaurant.
I've always been frugal with my money, I guess I enjoy saving money for whatever reason. I agree that if my salary was doubled, I probably wouldn't spend much more than I currently do. Also, it's kinda funny to see my friends in finance who make double what I make, but spend so much on stupid shit that they save nothing. I'd much rather live below my means and save up than blow my money

That determination is different for everyone. What I consider frugal, you may consider cheap
I hate when people spend ages splitting up restaurant bills. Just put in your card and split equally.
BCG I may have had this conversation with you on a thread a few months ago, but I've never heard of splitting a bill evenly until this app. Pretty much everywhere I go, I'm asked if I want separate checks and my friends and I will always say yes
What D1 said. I grew up in the hood. My high school has more alumni that have won Olympic Medals than have worked at MBB.
I'm with you 100% s1 haha the frugal life is the way to go
I'm the one drinking water when others have cocktails and wine and still rather split evenly vs combing through the bill "who had the fried pickles? Didn't you eat some of them also?" 🙄
Cheapness affects those around you negatively (friends, family). Frugal only affects yourself.
I'm not saying I would do that (IMO that's being cheap). But I also don't have an SO because that costs $
OPM = Other People's Money. Need to align consultants' personal interest with project economics. This is done at engagement manager's level
Clients do the same thing. They spend their companies' money on you because they don't want to do things themselves.
You should ask why clients like to pay for outsourcing labor rather than training their own staff to do things better.
