Based on the tone of your post I doubt your interested in serious discussion but I’ll still take a shot

1. I think blanket bans on new gas hookups are stupid
2. I think a lot more needs to be done on climate change. Points 1 and 2 are not mutually exclusive
3. I’m very confident there will be an exception carved out for restaurants. My understanding is, even beyond table top grills, you need a very high btu burner for proper wok cooking
4. These types of decisions being made by elected officials at the local level is a conservative’s wet dream of how government should work. It’s the essence of small federal government and decisions being pushed out to the level of government closest to the voter.

The real question is why do you hate democracy so much?

I don't understand your question.

Just a point of order: Gas is a large and growing part of our power generation infrastructure…we have not used oil for generation on a large scale since the 70s. It’s <1% of our total generation in the US.

like

And then mostly just for flexibility in high consumption seasons.

Gas stoves have nearly nothing to do with broader energy issues.

Gas stoves are known to cause more health and safety issues than electric and induction counterparts. That is all.

I’m an avid cook and love mine, but I do agree it’s worth some policy consideration.

Confused. This is a major change for all as most every restaurants, not just Korean, use gas to cook. No?

Not sure if this is really what you're driving at, but green energy phasing could look like

1) replace end use of fossil fuels with electricity
2) replace dirty electricity with clean electricity

We need the electric infrastructure (e.g., charging) regardless of how the electricity is generated. It will take massive investment and significant time to switch to electric power in vehicles, appliances, etc. While this switch is happening, generation can shift too.

Our energy mix won't always be what it is today.

Are we just going to ignore electricity generated by wind mills?
