50% bump? Congrats, and good luck at the new role!

like

Haha thank you

Take the money and run. Why do you think you won’t learn leadership skills in the other firm? You are going to be doing similar stuff there and can learn, granted it might be harder, new network and all that. But 50% will significantly enhance your lifestyle.

Things are going downhill fast here. Get off the bus before it drives off the cliff. Salary compression is happening rapidly and promo timelines are being extended. That’s not the sign of a thriving organization. Realistically given current trends, new analysts can expect to take 25 years to make partner, and most of them will not even become equity partners. We have SCs making under 100k and soon managers will too. The value proposition of Deloitte simply isn’t there like it once was. We need to turnaround our business to avoid becoming a WITCH like we are poised to do soon.

Lucky you!!! Get out while you can...guilt free. In fact you should be feeling happy that you are able to get out of this crappy firm.

No flexibility and limited opportunities...you get stuck in a project for long time. And no one literally cares about you.. And when you see other companies competitive pay you just feel the worst for yourself.

I’m in the exact same situation as you, and will absolutely take the offer when I get one to leave, especially one paying 50% more as well

What company would you go to? Also, I felt guilty too even though I was severely underpaid at Deloitte and left for more money but it wasn’t easy

Recently received an offer from a mid-size public firm and unsure if I should consider the opportunity. I’m currently in S1 SALT in NJ. The details are below: - Pay: $80k (12% upward bump than what I’m getting right now) - Title: Semi senior, but up for promotion in July if all goes well - Role: General tax, but mainly federal tax. One of the main reasons I’m considering -Location: Technically NYC, but assuming I do well while we are still remote I can work out of NJ 3 days after covid ends

Have two offers and unsure which to take. Ex Big 4 and have done software startups since. Option 1: Director role back in Big 4. Good package. Good fit with my area of expertise, focusing on tech solutions and partnering with startups. Working across all industries and clients. Option 2: Big Tech/GAFAM (level = L6 google/e6 FB/65 Microsoft, which I’m told is Director equivalent) Even better package. Account Technology Strategist. Less client diversity but using breadth of their tech.
