People who treat other people badly are assholes. There are a lot of them, unfortunately, especially in corporate. That’s why there are HR rules to begin with. Sorry you have to endure that. But you’re the perfect scapegoat for their misery.

Because they have to live with whatever decisions you make long after you’re gone.

I didn’t say the behavior was okay. I was explaining how people get to that point.

I haven’t had any clients treat me too poorly yet. Maybe more aggressive than a colleague but nothing crazy. I’m also not a manager yet though and I kind of let them vent to me without reacting too much so nothing really escalates.

I’ve been working with a client PM who has been mispronouncing my very common name for 6 months. The lack of courtesy is unbelievable. His coworkers call me the right name, and he just refuses to call me anything different.

Unfortunately you kind of have to live with it at this point, however I have an easy to mispronounce name at first but never let up until they get close enough.

I’m a new manager and am trying to get off a client. Need guidance if I should do it. I work with a very nice senior manager who is up for partner. She gave me a very decent review. The client is horrible though. Piecemeal review comments, constant updates workpapers and last minute changes. The only good thing is working with this senior manager. She is also my counselor. I asked her to get off of this account, and she said the firm probably won’t allow it. I have another senior manager I work

Hi y’all. So I haven’t technically onboarded for my firm yet, I’m suppose to start in 3 weeks. One of the projects I’m going to be put on requested to have a little interview with people of the team so I had mine today. The “interviewer” didn’t really seem to think I was qualified for this project at the end of the conversation (agree to disagree with him on that). Regardless, am I in trouble for not fitting his criteria/selling myself enough…kinda worried on my manager’s response….

Project management software - ours sucks. Looking into replacements. Anybody have ones they love? Reasons why? Need it primarily for managing internal workflow (non client-facing). Please help!

Hello Fishes , can anyone help to get a sales job In Dubai or Canada I have 5 years of exp in software sales and project management, in India . majorly handling clients from across the globe.

I know this has been posted before but I just need support. I’ve been back from mat leave for two months. I don’t like my job, my motivation to work is gone. I just think I hate this work. I am interviewing at other jobs but nothing is happening. I used to have so much drive to do well - even if I hated a project. Now I’m doing the minimum to just get by. I feel I need to be inspired work wise (hence, looking for a new job), but just kinda depressed and aimless.

Moms, I need advice. I’m one month in at D (previous consultant, spent last 5 years in industry as a leader of leaders) and came in at Mgr - and I *hate* it. I’m 13 weeks with our first and mat leave was a huge factor in coming to D, so feeling trapped. I spend more time dealing w/ asshole client SM (not my project SM) than doing work. My coach is great, but her advice was basically, “D is full of assholes 🤷🏻‍♀️, get used to it.” Is it too soon to leave? Especially pregnant? What to tell recruiters?

Thoughts on changing wedding coordinator? Been speaking with one for a few weeks (no contract signed), she’s done some work for me including viewing venues and scheduling a caterer. I estimate she’s spent maybe 20 hours on me. But after viewing her past weddings and those of another coordinator in the area, im in love with the other coordinators’ wedding style. I paid this one $500 so far (for my own conscience) but I wanna cut the cord. Harsh?

Of late, when she makes plans, she goes on her own or if she goes with her friends (whom I know), she would not invite me. I feel left out and sad because of it. I think I should not feel that way as she can
