Why do underwriters and brokers go into Corporate risk management?

I want to quit and go into advocacy work full time. I got a taste of it last week and loved the feeling I was left with. But I have amazing benefits and a stable career so I don’t know if I’m ready to give that up for more fulfilling work that might not pay out or could be the first to go in a recession. Anyone weighed between a career based on passion vs financial stability (let’s be honest, no one sane does this shit for fun) and the passion won?

Hi Everyone, I have been an HR Generalist for close to 7 years. I had good managers and poor managers in between. My VP once told me not to pursue my MBA because she would teach me everything she knew. She never did. I am currently going for my SHRM SCP. I have around 6+ years of experience in Information Security which includes ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2 and PCI DSS.

Does anyone know how to successfully transition from academia clinical research into industry clinical operations? I’m currently at a director level of a large research program in academia and oversee operations. Prior to that I was a clinical research coordinator with extensive trial experience from study startup-close out. I’m not sure what level would be a good transition step and open to new roles/opportunities as well.

What’s the consensus on tattoos in the insurance workplace? I’m in leadership and considering exploring my options due to recent personnel changes. I work remote and have arm sleeves, and any time I would be in-person I’d of course wear a long sleeve shirt to be professional, but worry about a cuff rolling up and tattoos being somewhat visible. Hello, does anyone work as an auto underwriter for insurance? I recently got accepted for an internal job position and was offered $50k. I’m currently a claim processor making $20/hour so the offer is more than what i’m making but is low in comparison to the average salary for an auto underwriter in AZ (which is around $58k).
