Hi fishes, I joined early of June in NTT DATA as a senior software developer. After few internal project interviews I been selected very soon into one project. Laptop was delivered to my home address but no work assigned. I asked multiple times my manager to raise a ticket to install required software like visual studio. Because most (not all) can’t be bothered to put in a modicum of effort. It’s a numbers game for them. It’s why they send me midlevel jobs when it clearly says “ACD” on all of my profiles.
They’re the casting directors of the job world.
Recruiters are lazy and/or inexperienced themselves. They use the shotgun approach to find talent a lot. Spray and pray..
I agree it’s bad recruiters.. but unfortunately from my experience, the majority of recruiters aren’t too great. Recruiters are not (creative) visionaries. They don’t see/understand talent. I’ve been denied hundreds of times when I was first starting out. I now learned to go around HR/recruiters/staffing agencies.
As a recruit, I do read through a resume and profile but it sounds like person in particular just used keywords and blasted out messages. Sorry you had that experience!
I had a recruiter reach out to me about a lead on a vertical which clearly I had not worked in.
Then asked why they asked on me - was told I didn’t have experience in that vertical. It happens at all levels
To be fair, my portfolio contains 7-8 projects that I won awards for, am proud of, and feel display my conceptual chops well … it’s not a reflection of every category I’ve ever worked in or have knowledge of. I don’t mind a recruiter asking, esp early in a conversation.
