Why do recruiters who send email blasts refuse to name the firm they’re recruiting for? I work at a V30 and get at least 5+ emails from different recruiters every day. They never list the firm in their novel-length description. A few times a post has sounded interesting and I have replied and asked “what firm?” They immediately respond that they’ll tell me if I hop on a “short call” so I ghost them. Does this feel scammy to anyone else? Why do they do this?

Do you think recruiters are less likely to work with you in the future if you turn down an offer?

Have others found it hard to transition from Audit to Financial Analyst? All the recruiters I’m meeting with are telling me I probably won’t get an interview since they’re looking for someone who’s ready to hit the ground running.
It’s discouraging because I’m a fast learner, and from talking to my friends who are Financial Analysts, it doesn’t seem like what we do is so dissimilar.

What do you do if the partner who hired you is nice in social settings but awful to work for? And you can’t seem to escape from working for that partner. This partner doesn’t respond to your emails for critical issues that you need input on, doesn’t return your phone calls and voicemails and throws you under the bus in front of the client to blame you for her mistakes. The seniors are too busy. Just joined this firm so lateraling isn’t a viable option.
