The only thing that shows up during a bg check of your job is your title and tenure. The interview is not guaranteed to determine any lies. And people lie because it's proven that liars get ahead 🤷🏾♂️
I guess. I’m start to see that most people in consulting are incredibly insecure, otherwise they wouldn’t feel the need to lie about their job title.

I agree with OP. I work for a small startup (~50 people) and one of my peers wrote that they ‘lead and direct the entire team’s research efforts’, as well as adding a Senior title to their role - both things are not true. Seems really unethical to me and grinds my gears. What can someone actually do about it? How is it any different than lying about test scores or credentials (which is fraud)...
It’s a viagra substitute for those ppl and it’s natural too.
