Why do so many people want to go into PE/VC post-MBB?

I feel as though the big 4 have so much administrative stuff to take care of cause we have the accounting arms, do MBB or boutique consulting firms have to worry about as many e-learnings & shit?

Debate ensues: is it Bbm or mbb?

If MBB is tier 1, and the big 5 are tier 2, where do AT Kearney, Oliver Wyman, LEK, etc fall in?

How hard is it to go from Oliver Wyman to MBB? Considering a switch..

Is MBB all that it's cracked up (by certain people) to be?

Where do people go after 2 years of post MBA MBB consulting?

What do junior partners (2-3 yrs as partner) at Deloitte S&O make all-in? What is that figure at MBB, PwC, EY?

Went from MBB consulting to M&A (mostly sell-side). Considering PE next (either operating or investment). Haven't really worked with sponsors too much. Which firms should I look at?

If moving from D S&O to MBB, do you take a step back? i.e. Manager (big 4) to Consultant/Associate etc (MBB). This true?
