BDO seems like the worst firm, based on everyone's FB posts. Everywhere else I've been the charge hours go down when you hit manager, but total hours go up a bit
Look again at your hour charts. Billable goes down but firm contribution up
Relax, everyone. OP just doesn't know how to read the chart. Chargeable goes down, overall goes up because they budget for things like BD.
Either way, too many damn hours
I cant imagine how a manager can charge above a senior...
Maybe you weren't ready for promotion and your job is just taking you a lot longer than it should, hence more hours.
Could just be your office. If a manager was billing so much to clients partner would definitely start asking questions
@KPMG1 BDO is not as terrible as some people make it out to be. Now, are there certain offices that suck (e.g. Miami) due to the lack in leadership, vision, and senior burnout which all lead to excessive turnover, yes. By the way, Miami came to mind based on my recent interaction with them at national training (and word on the street). Anywho, I digress, the firm is actually great and offers growth opportunities (again depends on office) to all of its professionals.
They should go down, even if slightly.
@KPMG, how do total hours go up? Charge hours goals are set and clear. Do firms have total hours goals? Or are those informal numbers and implicitly go up because of the new responsibilities?
Billable goes up only 50 at senior then goes down every level.
Perhaps I was talking about personal experience and what is expected from leadership not a chart
