They just don’t want to talk to other actuaries.

People with good social skills usually have a social life and therefore studying for exams has a higher social opportunity cost.

Or studying for exams took social skills away.

Studying time took away literally thousands of hours from potential socializing. Less social development => lower perceived social skills. You can't conquer everything.

Actuarial just stole away our social skills. We are really bad. Have you seen how people interact in the office ? It’s very sad

Hello,

I am currently a Health Admin Fellow at a leading healthcare system. I am in a phase during my fellowship where I will have to start searching for a role within the system in the next 3 months.

I was wondering what kind of role would be best step forward for an admin fellow.

I was offered a project coordinator role but feel I should not accept the same without looking at other options. I aim to seek out a project manager role and was wondering if this would be the wrong step forward.

Reasonable base compensation expectations for regional general counsel position (direct report to CLO)? From what I can tell, company revenue is $500M - $1B (privately held company, so tough to know); construction industry (infrastructure / energy / mining); midwest headquarters. I’d be at the lower end of the experience requirements. Looked at MLA report, but looking for additional thoughts/opinions. Thanks!

I’m actively searching & looking for a new strategist position since my current agency is mismanaging not only myself but the relationship with the client. It’s a dumpster fire.

I’m wondering what questions I should look out for and be aware of as I find myself getting past the HR screens pretty quickly.

Also - if your agency is remote or LA based and hiring, feel free to let me know in the comments as well :)
