This is encouraging, and it’s an issue with strong bipartisan support.
“Overall in these counties, teenage pregnancy rates dropped by 1.5 percent in the first year of TPP funding, but fell by approximately 7 percent in the fifth year of funding for an average reduction of over 3 percent during the studied period.”

Experts in what? Who gets to decide who is an expert or not?
Other experts in the field. Was thinking something analogous to the ABA for lawyers for each profession/field.

Considering he started out as a no-name nobody with zero background in politics, he did very well and got national recognition. That to me is a sign that voters are willing to latch onto a candidate if they are in the correct lane

The answer to your question lies in how experts are defined and chosen. I think there’s abundant evidence that the way we choose our experts right now tilts toward Talib’s intellectual but idiot class. Experts are not what they’re cracked up to be. The smartest expert contains less wisdom than the typical group/market.
The issue is always how do you select these people and can you trust that power will not corrupt them
Set up some term limits and checks and balances. Other experts in the field can vote. That way we only have people qualified to know about the issue selecting people who will decide how the country will act on the issue.
We tried that. Power corrupts, and academia has zero appeal to the general public and would generally make a mess of things when dealing with foreign diplomats or communicating at a 5th-grade level so that the average American could understand them. Also, a certain group of people who represent a HUGE voting block was turned off by their constant use of logic to rationalize policy... but I’m not going there. 🤣

I’m afraid that ship has sailed and we’ll be picking up the pieces of this post-facts world we’re currently living in, for a few years.
So we’d get no say in how the country is run? How would these “experts” be chosen? How would they be held to account? No will or representation of *we the people?*
You probably call Trump an authoritarian, yet this would invariably lead to an authoritarian government in very short order.
